2017 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

*Outfit Details with Affiliate Links: Velvet Dress (Zaful) , Jacket (Zaful)

I’m sure you guys saw this post coming, but I thought it would be the perfect first post for 2017 by writing my new year’s resolutions. I have mixed feelings about resolutions because on one hand, I think they’re great since they are planned goals that you want to achieve for the year but then on the other hand, I think they tend to drift to the bottom of the priority list within a month or so.

I am an A type person so when I set my mind to something, I make it happen since that’s just my personality and mindset. Achieving new year’s resolutions isn’t really difficult for me but I think coming up with them is. New Years Resolutions also has a “change” connotation and sometimes I’m not sure what changes I want in my life. I usually tend to go with the flow and figure out as it goes, but I’ve decided to challenge myself and come up with 10 years resolutions:

  • Travel More: Traveling is one of my top passions in life and I definitely want to travel more in 2017. I usually visit two places throughout a year, but I want to go to at least 3 and maybe even to four foreign places. My goal is to eventually visit all seven continents!
  • Reduce Sugar Intake: This might be a given, but I tend to always add artificial sweeteners to my coffee and I love coffee and drink it on a daily basis. I want to challenge myself and try to drink it without any sugar or sweeteners. I think this will be difficult, but not impossible to achieve.
  • Meet New People: I am an extrovert but when it comes to attending events or social gatherings, I can be pretty shy and timid. I want to meet new people in 2017 and make an effort to get to know bloggers one one one. I find that I always learn a lot from others especially when they have the same blogging passion as me.
  • Reduce Stress: I don’t handle stress well and I feel like I stress easily. I want to be able to control how I handle pressure so I can reduce stress in my life because nobody likes stress! I think life is too precious to care for things that don’t really matter in the bigger picture and I need to remember that and adopt that mentality.
  • Read More: I love reading, but sometimes it’s not always my priority because I find myself too busy. I do however want to read at least one new book a month and try to bump it to two in the long run, so if you have any recommendations, let me know!
  • Start Saving Money: I am actually quite good with financing and budgeting, but I want to be able to save even more money since I eventually plan on buying a house and making more adult changes in my life this year. Is anybody else on the same boat?
  • Find New Hobbies: I love trying new things and I think it would be fun to find new hobbies and activities to do. This also relates to my next resolution which is to take risks.
  • Take More Risks: I have some fears, which I”m sure all of us do, but I want to take more risks. This might involve some activities do with water, height, etc, but either way I don’t want fear to stop me from enjoying life.
  • Learn To Cook More Meals: I love eating healthy and I love cooking. I want to learn how to cook more meals because I love exploring new recipes and finding what works for me. I would also love to get a big kitchen because there’s nothing more motivating than a clean and spacious counter space to cook!
  • Turn My Hobby Into a Career: This is definitely my ultimate goal/ resolution for 2017. I want to be able to turn my blogging hobby into a career. I have a lot of planning and organizing to do but I am excited to see how I can make this happen!

So those are my new year’s resolutions and I am making a priority to achieve them throughout the new year. What are yours resolutions and how do you feel about them?

  • I'd say you've put together a good list of things to achieve and look forward to. I don't personally make resolutions as I don't like failure and thus I only make it happen without any resolutions. That way I won't get disappointed, haha. :)

    • That might be smart! I just like writing down my goal so I can keep myself accountable.

  • That blue velvet piece looks so comfy! The color is so beautiful. These are great resolutions. I am always about travelling more, reducing stress and meeting new people. :) I hope you had a great holiday and meet all your expectations for the new year! Wishing you a great 2017!

  • I love that you always do what you set out to. That's such an amazing trait that I wish I had. I'm more of a fear now, procrastinate, and maybe get to it later, which I'm sure type A people just don't get. I wish I was more like you! Sounds like you've got some amazing things ahead of you with all these fabulous resolutions.

    • Thank you Yasmin! I understand that not everybody is like me, but I think it helps to have a journal and or notebook and write down your to do list. Sometimes visualizing it and seeing it on paper can make you more accountable!

  • Reducing my sugar intake is a biggie for me! I could literally gulp down a package of cookies in 1 or 2 sittings. I'm personally not a fan of resolutions because I set goals throughout the year. Great list of goals girl!

    • I'm the same way with goals for each month, but I also think it's great to jump start it with new year's resolutions since it's such a traditional thing to do.

  • It looks like we share a lot of the same goals for the year! I believe in you 100% and know that you can achieve all of these goals for sure! I really hope you get a chance to travel more and enjoy making new friends. I'm glad that you were one of my new friends in 2016, and I look forward to getting to know you better this year!
