2019 SUMMER TRENDS

Summer is only a month away and I love exploring summer trends! Every year, whether it’s a new trend or something that is making a comeback, we see many people rocking the same style, which are usually seen from fashion shows. I have noticed that animal prints and of course color blocking are trending, which are reflected in my outfits above. I have always been a fan of color blocking, so I’m excited that we’ll be seeing it more. We also know that neon was huge this spring and I’m not surprised it’ll still be trending into summer, but let’s see what else might be popular this season!

Fringe:

No matter the season, fringe will always make a comeback! In 2019, we are seeing fringe worn in a modern style, with a western twist. Fringe adds the perfect amount of spice and funkiness to any article of clothing, or a whole outfit. To avoid a full-out western look, you can add subtle fringed items to your look such as, fringe boots or earrings! I personally have never been that into fringe, but I’m definitely excited to explore ways to style new fringe items.

All Animal Prints:

Even though leopard print was a key trend last season, all animal print is here to stay for the summer. This includes cheetah, leopard, zebra, snakeskin and more! A big part of this trend is mix matching regular printed items with the animal print. Animal print has been blowing up specifically with skirts, coats, shoes, and accessories. Some designs have even combined a western twist with these patterns, for example, cowboy boots with cheetah print.

Print Mash-Up:

Looking to spice up your wardrobe with some bold and bright patterns?! Summer 2019 is bringing the heat along with some mixed up, clashing patterns and colors. Mixing patterns took over menswear 2019 runways this season in full body print variations. Get creative with your choices and pair shapes with florals, or graffiti with tie-dye. These patterns will dominate in two or three piece sets!

Bermuda Shorts:

It’s almost that time of year to bring out the jean shorts! Bermuda shorts are a key trend this season. Specifically in menswear, these shorts were paired a lot with suiting. Bermuda shorts were very popular in the early 2000s, but have successfully made a comeback. However, it’s not just the classic jean short that’s back. A variety of colors, materials, and styles were displayed on the Summer 2019 runways. These are a great mix between a loose pant or jean, and cute short shorts for the warmer seasons!

Strappy Sandals:

Now that we’ve covered some of the main items, it’s time to focus on shoes for the summer! A simple shoe or sandal can really bring together an outfit. This season’s key trend for shoes is a simple sandal with thin straps. This type of sandal leaves a  “naked” look to your feet. Strappy sandals definitely give off a late 90s and early 2000s vibe. These sandals can be any color, heel, or style as long as some straps are involved!

I’m actually a huge fan of all the trends this summer. Nothing seems to be too out of the ordinary. My favorites are definitely the animal print and strappy heels. Which ones are you guys loving the most?!
