July is going to be a huge month for me! It’s the month that I am moving and we all know that a move is never smooth. Although I know it’s a stressful time, I’m trying to reframe the situation and be excited about this new chapter of my life. It’s interesting to reflect on my June goals because I do feel like in a way that month was a wrap up of my “old” life and as I am thinking about my July goals, I am also associating that with my “new” life.
My main priority for last month was to figure out my living situation and obviously, I have successfully done that. I am still going to be in the same borough and I’m actually not moving too far from my old place, but I am going to be living alone, which is an exciting but scary change. I will be taking you along my journey, so feel free to follow me on Instagram for more live updates. I wanted to make progress in my side project and that actually fell through. I’m not bitter about it because I do understand that things happen and I always believe that things happen for a reason. Just because it didn’t go out as planned and hoped, it doesn’t mean that the opportunity won’t come to light in the future (I know it was more of a timing conflict).
My last goal from June was to do some NYC summer activities and I actually can’t say I’ve checked that off. My search for apartments was actually much more difficult than I thought. It took me a while to find my apartment, so my number one priority was to find my apartment which took a lot of my other “free” time away. The best part about writing goals down is that even if I didn’t meet them, I can carry it to the next month.
As we are enjoying the last few days of June, here are my three main goals for July:
- Get settled into my apartment: When I first moved back in 2019, I underestimated how long it takes to get situated in a new place. I am not going to rush this process, so I am going to take my time decorating my apartment and settling in. I plan on using all of July to make my studio apartment feel as cozy as possible. Since I will be living alone, I have the creative freedom to design the place as I’d like and I truly want to enjoy this new chapter.
- Be more active on social media: I’m the type of person that unplugs when I am stressed and turn inwards and prioritize solitude. I have been very silent on social media especially the last few weeks to focus on myself and to focus on my move. Now that I’ve acknowledged that, I am ready to now get back on social media and take my followers on this new journey.
- Hone in fitness goals: I work out daily and I value wellness and health. However, I want to take a one step further and hone in on my fitness goals. I know exactly what I want to achieve and now that I’m going to be in a new apartment, I want to also connect my home aspect with my lifestyle aspect.
We are now entering the second half of the year so I urge you all to do a deep, honest self reflection and try to come up with your own personal goals that you want to achieve for July. Wishing you all a beautiful month ahead!

Thank you Jennifer!
These are great goals. I want to focus more on my Instagram as well. And hone in on my fitness goals as well. I was going 5 days a week when I was working from home, but now that I am back in the office, I only go 3 times.
I love hearing that our goals are similar 🙂
So exciting that you are getting ready to move! I use the Peloton app for at-home workouts!

I am lucky enough that I have a gym in my building 🙂
That’s so exciting you’ll be in your own place. It always takes awhile to get settled, but it’s such a fun time!

Good luck with the move! I hope you feel at home real soon!
Thank you so much Nancy!
I hope your move goes as well as possible! Those are great goals for July!
Oh yes moving is always stressful and finding an apartment in any big city is always a struggle though I would have thought it would have been a bit easier with so many moving out of the city. I have to do this soon and I am not looking forward to it. But yes this is a new chapter of your life and LOVE these photos of you!

It’s actually surprising because I don’t think a lot of people are actually moving out of the city. I feel like a lot of people are actually moving back! But thank you for your support, I am taking it day by day as we speak.
I hope you settle into your new place well! And good luck figuring out your fitness goals x
Thank you so much Sophie!

Thank you so much Danielle!
Good luck with moving! It’s so stressful, but it’s such a satisfying feeling to be fully settled in somewhere new x

Absolutely! It’s been almost a week and I’m definitely not fully settled but it’s been great to organize, unbox and order furniture 🙂
Bless your heart, I don’t envy you the move. I have moved too much in my adult life. Very contented to stay right here until I absolutely cannot any longer. But moving to a new space can be exciting and fun, too. I think it is a great idea to become familiar with your new apartment before deciding where to put what, where to hang what. Unfortunately, our furniture is pretty big and a huge headache to move. I used to move my furniture around with the weather!! But this big bedroom suite and our recliners in the den are staying put!!
Yes, try to schedule in fitness time just so you are staying healthy and as a release from the stress of moving. Can’t wait to see pictures of your new abode!!
Thank you Leslie! And yes I agree, it can be so stressful but I feel like the hard part is almost over!
I hope you’re loving your new apartment, Mariann!
