SPORTS EVENT ESSENTIALS

My boyfriend got me into soccer within the last year or so and we are actually season ticket holders for NYCFC. For those of you who are not familiar, NYCFC is New York’s football club, which was established last year. With that being said, it is no wonder why I attend a soccer game almost weekly, especially over the summer. I thought it would be helpful to share my Sports Event Essentials from desirelist.

I shared a similar post where I introduced you guys to desirelist, a platform that allows you to create lists of items for any occasion. Last time, I spoke about my travel essentials for my Hong Kong trip, but now that I’m back I’ve decided to do another list that was relevant to my summer plans and activities.

I am by no means an expert at attending sports events and I know it can be somewhat frustrating and overwhelming with the large crowds and high energy. I’ve listed 10 must bring items to a sports events based on my experience below:

  • Sunglasses: It’s very easy for fans to blend it since we’re mostly rooting for the same team, but I still like to stand out in my own way and I thought these fun, bright sunglasses would help me do so. Plus not only does this make me look cool, it helps block the sun out of my eyes, so it’s a win win!
  • Sunscreen: I mean come on, this is a given! It is so important to protect your skin in the summer and I prefer spray on sunscreen rather than the lotion. I like to bring this with me so I can reapply and make sure I don’t get burn!
  • Sports Jersey: I think it’s an unwritten rule to wear your team’s jersey to a sporting event because for one thing, it’s fun to dress up and secondly, it’s a simple way to unite with other fans, but please note this may cause some not so friendly looks when crossing paths with a rival team.
  • Sneakers: I have worn sandals in the past to a sports events and definitely regretted it. Always opt for sneakers because you’ll be more comfortable!
  • Snack: I like to bring a snack with me because I don’t really like stadium food. I usually go for Quest bars because they are delicious and high in protein!
  • Infused Water Bottle: Hydration is key for a sports event. I like to bring my infused water bottle because I love adding fruits for added taste and flavor.
  • Crossbody bag: Ladies, you know you simply can’t go anywhere without a bag! I suggest bringing a small crossbody bag to keep all your essentials like wallet, phone and keys and nothing too big because trust me, you don’t want to be carrying a large bag all day!
  • Cardigan: The weather can always be unpredictable so I like to bring a light cardigan just in case a game is at night as it can get a bit chilly or if it rains.
  • Cap/hat: Likewise, if you’re out during the day and sitting out in the sun, a hat or cap can help keep the sun out of your eyes so you can focus on the game. You can bring a regular cap or hat or a sports one.
  • Hand Sanitizer: I don’t know about you guys, but I need to bring hand sanitizer with me everywhere I go, especially during a sports event. I like to use it before and after I eat and just throughout the day to make sure I’m a clean gal 🙂

Feel free to view my whole list here. I love desirelist because it’s a great way to stay organized with upcoming events or occasions. It’s also nice to be able to look back on your lists as it often can bring back a certain memory. You can use it personally by picking items you need or want for an event or you can share it with others if you want to use it for gifting purposes like for your birthday or wedding. There really isn’t any limitations or restrictions for this platform. If you haven’t already, go check it out and I would love to read your lists!

Haha i bring hand sanitizing wipes ALL the time. They are always in my bag. You just never know when youre about to grab a quick bite and dont have a restroom nearby to wash off.

Its great to know how much you enjoy soccer. I agree with every essentials on your list especially the hydration part. Also wearing of sneakers instead of sandals is really better and comfortable in events like this. Have a great day babe! xx
