SUMMER MAXI DRESS

As a petite woman, it’s always difficult to find clothing that fits me well. And for all your short girls out there, can I get an amen?! Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely perks in being petite but sometimes I want to wear maxi dresses, but feel like I can’t pull it off due to my height. I have been loving summer maxi dresses at the moment because I think it’s a great way to wear one piece of clothing and have it speak for itself.

I was gifted the purple v neck maxi dress from Sheinside and think it’s a beautiful piece to wear for a vacation, beach or even to a wedding. I got a size small and I have to admit that the top area was a bit too big for me. I had to get it altered so my mother helped me sew in the front and the straps around the neck to pull it higher. Thank god it was a simple fix, but this is a problem that I normally encounter due to my petite frame. Whether you’re petite or not, do you guys find it difficult to find clothing items that fit? I definitely think it’s because I shop online since I hate the process of trying on clothes in person. But since a lot of companies have free exchanges or returns, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal when I need to return something.

I am so in love with the photography from this shoot! It must be one of my favorite shoots thus far. I love being able to capture the essence of a clothing item with the scenery and background. I’m sure a lot of other bloggers would’ve settled for a beach theme, which what I was originally going for. My plans for that fell through but I made it work by using a Soho rooftop. I would highly recommend getting creative and using the space you have access to. As a blogger, we are artists because we need to create a story using our photos, which is the path I am trying to take moving forward.
