I hope you guys aren’t getting sick of my #OWNYOURSASS blog series but I am very passionate about the topic and I love to have this as an ongoing blog topic. My main mission is to spread awareness of how I feel about confidence and how I gained it. If you don’t already know what sparked my interest in this subject, you can read about it in my first post here and my second post here.  Essentially, I was able to turn my mindset around when someone labeled me as being too sassy. It wasn’t a pleasant experience as I’m sure most of you have also been called or labeled as certain adjectives. Instead of being upset or hurt by it, I decided to embrace my inner sass because who says it’s a bad thing?

As always, I decided to recruit powerful women who exudes confidence in their brand image and being. Read on to find out what they think about this topic and why I admire each and every one of them.

  • Samantha Mariko (@samanthamariko):

Sass = confidence. The most confident women I know have just the right amount of it. While being sassy can be offending to some people, I think it’s a way of showing personality and flair which can be so sexy if done right. This might be hard to believe but I was one of the shiest girls growing up, and it took me many years to overcome that. And now that I work in the entertainment industry in Tokyo, exuding sassiness in the right way has helped me make more connections, friends and even business opportunities. Kindness and graciousness are both irreplaceable qualities, but balancing those with a touch of sassmakes a woman so much more interesting. So go ahead and #OWNYOURSASS

  • Adrianna Naomi (@adriannanaomi):

To me, sassiness is confidence; to others, it may mean something completely different. Being sassy and owning your sass comes from a place of self-love and self-acceptance. A place where you know who you are, what you want from life, what you deserve, and what you are simply not willing to tolerate. This type of self-assurance may come off as “too strong” to others, but at the end of the day, if you know where you stand in life, are respectful, kind, and compassionate towards others, your sass should be a compliment to all these amazing qualities!

  • Annabel Jimenez (@annabeljz):

For me, the term sassy is someone who is bold, has personality, swag, confident, speaks their mind and stands by what they believe in. I’ve been called sassy at times and while others might take is an insult or feel offended I take it as a compliment; yes I am sassy, yes I have an opinion and am not afraid to tell you the truth and defend my beliefs, yes I am not a follower of society “norms” I go by my own rules and standards. One of the many quotes I stand by is “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken”- Oscar Wilde, just come as you are and DO YOU!  #OwnYourSass

  • Laurie Espino (@lauriespino):

For some reason, people have come to the conclusion that a sassy person is a bad person. I’m not sure when the negative connotation for the word came out, but I think it’s time we stop it. To me, being sassy means to be lively, cheeky, and unrelenting. It means standing by what you believe in, even if it means contradicting the popular opinion. It means living your life by your own rules, and not worrying about the society norms. Most importantly, it’s about working towards your goals and not letting anyone stop you from achieving.

I’m sure you guys can agree that these women are amazing and I am so glad that they decided to be part of this movement. I really do believe that we should embrace our sass and confidence is key in life. Even if you don’t have it, fake it because it has been a challenge for me over the years but once you start to believe and embrace it, it honestly becomes natural!

I’m definitely in line with what Adrianna said! Preach girrrrl xx sassiness does come from a person who loves and accepts who they are which can be difficult but oh so worth it!

I am all about supporting women because I think there’s no reason why we shouldn’t. There’s actually a lot of bloggers that I admire based on their confidence, so it’s great to give them background on what #OWNYOURSASS and have then give their insight on it as well 🙂
