Halloween is right around the corner and I don’t always participate in dressing up for the holiday, but I love seeing what others come up with in terms of costumes and make up. I think this is the perfect time for people to get creative and it’s amazing to see youtube videos and Pinterest DIY costume ideas. I still don’t know if I am going to dress up, but I did a bit of research on what others are coming up with and I decided to share the most popular and creative ideas I found online.

  1. Glamorous Skulls: After Desi Perkins kicked off the dripping skull trend last year, many are imitating her hollowed out look in a variation of ways. It is easy to do with just some face paint, and you can pair it with whatever outfit, whether you want to look spooky, or just fabulous. This is a happy medium for embracing the scary and beautiful aspects of Halloween. There are multiple variations online if you want to play with color or design, so don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone! Although art may not be your forte, if you love makeup and painting, this may be the Halloween idea to bring out your creativity.
  2. Disney 2017: From the queen of DIY herself, LaurDIY has come up with three costumes to feature the latest three Disney movies that came out in 2017: Cinderella, Goodbye Christopher Robin, and Moana. Her tutorials are notoriously easy to follow and these costumes are a great reboot of some older style Halloween costumes. Whether you want to be a princess, an adventurer, or a cozy teddy bear, you will definitely the one you’re looking for. A favorite will definitely be the Winnie the Pooh costume that will keep you warm on a chilly, Halloween night.
  3. Daenerys (Game of Thrones): If you haven’t seen Game of Thrones, you probably have been living under a rock. With the newest season of the show having everyone sitting on their couches, it’s not surprising that there will be several characters walking on the street on Halloween. Daenerys is definitely one that easily put together with a white gown and a pale blonde wig. The costume is both elegant, yet socially relevant. Maybe you can even get a friend to be your Jon Snow!
  4. Snapchat Filter: We all know and love Snapchat filters, so why not turn them into reality for Halloween? With the arrival of new filters everyday, the possibilities are endless. Turn yourself into a dancing hot dog, a deer or just throw on a flower crown. You can also turn it into a group costume by having each of your friends recreate one.It is one of the easiest and unique costumes that you can pull of last minute! Glamour lists below easy tutorials of how you can bring these digital filters to life. Follow their easy step by step tutorials to achieve their looks.
  5. Pennywise: The remake of Stephen King’s classic, It, will have you seeing lots of scary clowns during Halloween. I’m sure people want to embrace the horrifying aspects of the character, but I personally looked for an alternatives to the classic Pennywise. There’s really very few things scarier than a murderous clown, but that doesn’t stop some people from making it their own. Glam up the clown makeup with some glitter and some winged liner, and you’re ready for a Halloween party.

What do you guys think of Halloween? Are you excited and are you dressing up? I would love to hear about your costume ideas and plans!

I don’t dress up either but these are some great ideas. I love the creative costumes I’ve seen especially with the SnapChat filters. Those are always so funny. My kids are all going as Harry Potter characters. I am very boring when it comes to Halloween and much rather sit and pass out candy and eat a few too. =) Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo, Christine

I’m not really into Halloween either actually. I just love seeing other people dress up. For some reason, I don’t get into the dressing up idea especially after I graduated from college haha.

You’ve hit all the best Halloween ideas right on the head. I may even try my hand at the dripping skull this year, even though i’m nowhere near as talented as Desi Perkins!

The skull makeup is definitely intimidating but I think if you can nail it, it would be amazing!

Ah, Pennywise lol. But I always go for an elegant look with my costumes! I dressed up for a movie, Victoria and Abdul that came out a few months ago! Velvet is also great for costume inspo! 🙂

I absolutely love Halloween and all the scary movies that come along with it, but I have never been one to dress up for it. I just see it as a waste of money for something I can only wear once. Yet, I’m literally one of the only ones who think like that, haha! I am always down for a good and scary haunted house though!

I actually don’t like to dress up either but if I were to, I like to use clothing from my own wardrobe because it makes me use feel more creative if I am limited to only the clothes I own.

‘It’ is probably the scariest movie I’ve seen to date, so seeing all these Pennywises running around the streets make me jump every time!! No more clowns please, haha. As for Daenarys, whatever gets me closer to Jon Snow I’ll dress up in, haha. I must admit though that I’ve spent Halloween weekend bingeing Stranger Things instead of dressing up, but I do love it when other people are creative! 🙂

I always dressed up as disney princesses growing up, but I haven’t done a disney costume once I grew older. That would be a great idea to try in the future and relive my childhood days <3

Awesome Halloween costume ideas! I really like the Snapchat filters suggestion, even though I don’t use Snapchat myself! I didn’t get dressed up this year but maybe next time. It’s always fun getting dolled up in fancy dress!
