This year has been full of changes and it’s amazing to see how much can happen in a year. I quit my job in February and I haven’t looked back. It was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my life thus far and I am happy to say that I have no regrets. I also gained a new perspective on life and I guess you can say I’ve fully matured into an adult.
I felt like I had one of those epiphany moments where everything seemed to align. I can’t say that I have my life together or I know exactly what I want, where I will be in a few years or what my goals are, but I can say that I am confident in who I am and in the choices that I make. At the end of the day, we all have our intuitions and guts to rely on and this year, I’ve learned to never ignore those signs because they hold truth and value.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned this year was quality over quantity. This phrase relates to my personal life as well as my career. My social circle has definitely shrunk in size, but I’ve realized that it’s okay because people change and grow apart and that’s just part of life. I value relationships tremendously, but when a relationship is a one way street, you have to learn to let it go. It is better to have a few, quality relationships and friendships with people that you can count on and who support you than many friendships that lack in value.
Ever since I started to blog full-time, I’ve also come to realize that I don’t have to post on social media for the sole purpose of posting. When I was doing it on the side, it was okay because I used the platforms as a hobby. Now that I am taking it more seriously, I put more effort and thought into my content and quality trumps quantity any day. I now see blogging in a bigger picture in terms of my career and I have adopted a business, entrepreneur mindset, which I hope to continuously improve on for 2018.
It’s inevitable for all of us to reflect on the year as 2017 is coming to an end, but I also think it’s a great way to take a step back and take in the lessons you’ve learned throughout the 12 months. This year has been a turning point in my career, but also very eye opening and monumental in my personal life. Have you took a moment to reflect on 2017? Let me know what your biggest accomplishment was and what your goals are for 2018!

I’m one of those who believes in quality over quantity. I think every aspect of my life now embodies it especially on my career and even stuff in my house 😀 Anyway, cute look! I love your top.

Thank you Alyssa! Love hearing that 🙂
This is so true. Life is so busy, it’s hard to invest in relationships when the other person isn’t reciprocating.

Quality is the key, isn’t it? With so much out there, it is more vital to be honest and put forth your best, even if this means less but better. Hope you have had a wonderful New Year love!

Thank you Jenelle! I am definitely taking that phrase into the new year as I am trying to rebrand and focus more on my craft than posting frequently.
This is so true babe!! Working as a digital nomad is very hard not to pay attention to the numbers but at the end of the day I realized that we quality of our work is much more important.
Thanks for the reminder and hope you had a great start of the year!

I am already putting this phrase into use since I am posting less, but I actually feel amazing and less stressed.
