5 DESIGNERS TO LOOK OUT FOR NYFW 2018

New York Fashion Week is right around the corner and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us. It’s such a hectic but fun time of year! I have a few designers to look out for including some I personally haven’t heard of before. I love each of these designers and their varying styles and aesthetics so definitely check them out their collections! Unfortunately, I am not attending any of these shows, but these are the ones that are currently on my radar. Stay tuned for an upcoming post on what shows I will be attending and my recap for them.

Vivienne Hu: Vivienne Hu is a New York-based designer that fuses elegant European styles with New York street style. Hu’s style is wearable but is still an elevated version of everyday clothing. I love that many of her pieces have a touch of Asian flair. Each article of clothing has its own personality but remains incredibly elegant. Her last collection was stunning and I honestly can’t wait to see what her show has in store for us.

Christian Siriano: If you haven’t heard of Christian Siriano, I would recommend looking at some of his amazing designs right now. His dresses are completely jaw-dropping and you can see them on the cover of Vogue as well as on celebrities such as Tina Fey and Jennifer Lopez. I adore how his designs adds whimsical colors to red carpet-ready gowns and dresses. His show is definitely a must-see of the season.

Veronica Beard: Veronica Beard has some of my favorite classy everyday styles that remain timeless going through various seasons. I love that the brand focuses on empowering women and the different outfit styles can be worn from day to night. The brand came from two women who bonded over their love of fashion and it shows through their collections. While not as striking as some of the other brands on this list, they have their own classic style that makes me excited for their show!

Anna Sui: Anna Sui is a fun, avant garde designer who always blows me away with her unexpected designs. I love that I am always being surprised by what she puts out and she is definitely an artist. She loves playing with texture and color and her pieces definitely stand out among all the designers at fashion week. Her rebellious and fun style will definitely make for an amazing show and I always say for fashion week, the bolder the better!

Zimmermann: This Australian brand founded by two sisters and has quickly become a recognizable name by fusing swimwear and ready to wear clothing. Their floral, airy dresses leave me wanting to see more of their designs. It is awesome to see how they have evolved as a brand giving its audience a more global appeal rather than just swimwear. The last show they did in the spring was amazing so I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us.
