Halloween is a few days away and if you’re scrambling for a last minute halloween costume idea, don’t panic because I have a creative look for you to try! My extremely talented best friend Katya turned me into Minnie Mouse and this look requires not much except for some props and of course makeup! I loved how this look turned out and I want to share with you how she did it. I have included all the makeup and items that you will need along with a step to step tutorial below for any of you who are interested in recreating this look:
Makeup Used to Create This Look:
- Makeup prep mist from Tatcha Makeup Lovers Obento Box
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (now comes in 50 shades!)
- Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer
- Avon True Color Transforming Contour Stick
- e.l.f. cosmetics Instant Lift Brow Pencil
- Liquid Eyeliner from Tarte Pineapple of My Eye Collector’s Set
- False Lashes from Lilly Lashes x Sephora Holiday Set
- Black eyeliner from Charlotte Tilbury Party Girl Kit
- Makeup Revolution Jewel Collection Eyeshadow Palette
- Blush from Tarte Pineapple of My Eye Collector’s Set
- Vanilla Quartz Highlighter from Becca Holiday Kit
- Lipstick in Maneater from Smashbox Holidaze Gift Set
You will also need
- Rhinestones (available at Amazon and craft stores like Michael’s)
- Minnie Mouse headband
- For clothing, you can stick with a black tank top or t-shirt and a red skirt!
Step 1: The Base
Prime your skin with the facial spray and then apply foundation and then concealer. I love that she used Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation because it’s my go to foundation when i want a long-lasting look especially for a night out like Halloween.
Step 2: Contour
She contoured the hollows of my cheekbones with the Avon True Color Transforming Stick for a sharp look. I normally don’t like cream contour because it can sometimes be hard to work with, but this one is amazing!Â
Step 3: Brows
The brows were filled in naturally because strong brows would draw too much attention and the focus should be on the mouse design on the forehead.
Step 4: Eyes
For the eyes, she used neutral shades of burgundy and brown and created a very dramatic cat eye. She also threw on a pair of wispy and full lashes to finish off the look. If you guys haven’t noticed, I actually never wear falsies because I was never a fan of the dramatic look. However, I trusted Katya’s skills and allowed her to put them on me.
Step 5: Forehead
She used a soft black eyeliner to draw an arch on my forehead and filled it with a creamy pencil liner. To make it budge-proof, she set the design with black eyeshadow. You could also use face paints as well to save time! I would recommend tracing the arch first and taking a step back before going in with the black eyeshadow or paint.
She finished the forehead by applying these stunning rhinestones on the bottom border of the line and in the middle of my forehead with tweezers. You can buy ones that are already sticky at the craft store, but she used lash glue to make sure they remained in place.
Step 6: Cheeks
She put a rosy shade of blush on the cheeks, which was extremely flattering on my skin tone and complimented the look well. She then applied highlighter to the tops of my cheekbones in Becca’s Vanilla Quartz. Becca makes some of my favorite highlights and I could tell that my skin was beaming.
Step 7: Lips
Finally, she completed the look with a red metallic lip from Smashbox for a bit of glitz and glamour. My favorite part about these liquid lipsticks is that they will last you through the night without drying out your lips. The color was a show stopper and once she put it on, I knew it would be a holiday favorite for me!Â
And there you have it folks! I am so blown away by how the final Minnie Mouse makeup look turned out. I hope you guys enjoyed this Halloween makeup tutorial and feel free to try it out yourself. Katya also did a video tutorial so if you’re interested, feel free to check it out here. Be sure to let me know what you’re being for Halloween this year and tag me if you decide to recreate this tutorial!
