I think that it is safe to say that just about everyone on social media has caught the Unicorn obsession. People were literally going crazy over the limited time Unicorn Frappuccinos, which I wrote about last week. I personally love the colors of the Unicorn trend because blue, purple and pink go so well together. So to summarize the unicorn craze, I rounded up some Unicorn trends.
Mermaid Toasts: This article is not exactly about unicorns, but it is about mermaids and both species have the same color relevance so I think they belong in a similar category. Low and behold the, I would like to introduce you all to the Mermaid Toast! These colorful and vibrant mermaid toasts are too pretty to even eat and what is even better is that it is so simple to make. It is simply just made of cream cheese, food coloring and a dash of pretty toppings. The mermaid toast would also make for a great Instagram post. Since I do have some time on my hand, I actually wouldn’t mind trying this recipe. It will also be a fun activity for me to do with my niece so I’ll keep you guys updated if I actually try this.
Unicorn Skin Boots: Don’t get me wrong, I know that the unicorn craze has been all over social media, but never did I expect to see Christian Louboutin make Unicorn inspired boots. These boots look glamorous with the glitter and sequins, so it’s almost perfect timing that these just launched since it’s in trend with the Unicorn craze right now. I don’t think they’re wearable for everyday, but I do think they would pair well with a nice party dress or special event.
Unicorn Hair: I have also been looking for change this spring season and I came across this hair stylist that did a hair style based on the current Unicorn craze. Unicorn hair??? OMG. I love how this hairstylists did a pink, purple and blue ombre but still managed to blend the colors together. I know I’ve tried pink and purple hair before, but I don’t think I have the guts to do this trend. I feel like the maintenance would be too much, but I definitely admire those who can take that risk!
What do you guys think of the unicorn trend? Are you over it or are you loving it? I want to see if there’s other news surrounding this trend to emerge or if it will die down. Let me know your thoughts!
the unicorn trend is so in right now! i actually tried that unicorn frap and personally didn't like the taste of it but it was so pretty so i had to take a picture of it at least... for the gram! ;) xo, sharon
I remember seeing your picture on Instagram! I think it looks pretty, but I also read an article about the ingredients and it's pretty much all sugar and artificial coloring haha.

I think the unicorn drink might resurface again! It's nice to know that it was limited time, but I'm sure Starbucks will make more outrageous drink combinations soon.
I do believe I am a unicorn so I should probably start acting as one as well and I have never seen anything as intriguing as that unicorn sandwich and then you even tell me it's easy to make. Time to put my cooking skills to a test I believe! I never got to try the limited time only Unicorn Latte, but then again, I don't drink coffee anyway, haha.

It's just fun when these trends emerge because although it sounds silly, I also think they're fun and entertaining!
I honestly didn't know it was a trend haha. I would personally never try the unicorn frappuccino; way too much sugar and negative reviews to waste my money. I'm with Sharon though; I would have bought one for the 'gram :)
I would've liked to just have a taste of it, but you're right, I wouldn't have been able to drink the whole thing. When something is limited edition, it always gets me so I probably would've bought it just to try it and take a picture.

The whole unicone/mermaid trend is so cool haha I remember when I was a kid the stigma was always that "wacky" hair colours were only done by "crazy" people. I love how much more accepting people are and how everyone is breaking the boundaries of beauty
I definitely agree! When people started coloring their hair, I definitely thought they were crazy but I just did it last year so it's funny how that worked out.
