Black and White Plaid

There are some essentials that should always be in a woman’s closet. A little black dress is a must, but I also believe classic plain tops should be another. This look consists of a black and white plaid top that accentuates the shoulder and I am absolutely loving it! I bought it online and it’s now becoming a staple in my closet forever. It is loose on the bottom, which allows me to tuck it in, but I can also choose to leave it as is like in this outfit below. Because these colors are neutrals, I decided to pair it up with these Forever 21 red pants. I think the outfit makes me look sophisticated, but also gives me a little playfulness because the red color is so bright. I decided to wear my black stilettos from Lulus to tie it all together. For accessories, I decided to run with the black and white theme and picked up a similar patterned cross body bag, also from Lulus. It’s chic, simple and it’s the perfect size to fit my keys, wallet, lip stick and phone.

I wanted to keep my hair down for a more laid back look, but I can also put my hair up in a bun or a pony tail for a more dramatic look. I am wearing nude lip stick to keep this simple. I think this is perfect for going to work, but it also works well for happy hour and dinner after work. I am looking forward to playing more with this top and finding other ways to wear it since it’s black and white and basically goes with everything.
