Celebrity Edge Cruise Experience

What is it like sailing with Celebrity Cruises? It’s an absolute dream! I am going to dive into what to expect as I recap my experience with The Celebrity Edge.

THE CELEBRITY CRUISE EDGE EXPERIENCE

I embarked on Celebrity Edge’s 7 Night Western Caribbean Cruise. The itinerary for this sailing started at Fort Lauderdale. The ship then made its way to the following stops with three sailing days and three sea days:

• Roatan, Honduras
• Cozumel, Mexico 
• Nassau, Bahamas

Celebrity Edge partnered with goop for this sailing, which made it special and unique. There were curated wellness events including mindfulness workshops and workouts. The two wellness experts on my sailing were intuitive energy healer, Dana Childs and movement curator, Tina Jackson. I made it a priority to attend both practitioner’s sessions.

Upon reading Dana’s bio, I was extremely drawn to her story and gifts. As someone who is embarking on her own spiritual and self development journey, I felt called to be in her space. Expectedly so, I found Dana to be extremely inspiring, insightful and healing. She challenged my perspectives about life, karmic healing and relationships. She warned us that we might feel drained or tired after the workshops and she was not wrong. On the day that I attended two sessions, I felt extremely exhausted. Healing definitely that took place within those classes, even though they weren’t apparent in the moment. I am grateful for the sessions, for they expanded my self awareness and allowed me to dig deeper than I ever imagined.

 

I am that crazy girl who likes working out while on vacation. It wasn’t a question whether or not I would take Tina Jackson’s fitness sessions in the morning. What I loved about her classes was her empowering playlist. She also incorporated meditation with fitness and I love the combination of the two. Tina had a very calming and grounding energy about her. In addition, I enjoyed the contrast of the inviting workout environment with her encouragement and music. 

As evident, I am a huge wellness advocate. It’s no wonder why I was excited that this cruise honed into that aspect. I truly thought this sailing was a perfect introduction to cruising with Celebrity Cruises! 

CELEBRITY EDGE DESIGN

The Edge ship is known as “a ship designed to leave the future behind.”  The unique outward facing design breaks traditional ship design. Moreover, The Edge was meant to create a closer experience for guests to be connected with sea. As a first time cruiser with Celebrity Cruises, I can attest it exceeded that goal. There were noticeable, beautiful design elements throughout the ship including The Grand Plaza, Magic Carpet, the archway on deck 14 and Eden. In addition, there were also stunning artwork placed strategically and beautifully all around the ship.  I saw them at restaurants, in the hallways, in the rooms, etc.

THE RETREAT:

The Retreat includes stunning accommodations, a private restaurant, and an exclusive lounge and sundeck that rival any high-end resort. Your dedicated team of attendants, concierges, and your Personal Retreat Host will do everything to ensure you never have to lift a finger on vacation.

I have to thank Celebrity Cruises for giving me access to The Retreat. I didn’t know what to expect at first, but after using the amenities, I can now understand why The Retreat is similar to a high end resort. The sundeck at The Retreat was the place I spent the most time at. I enjoyed the separate access because I tend to crave peace and quiet when I’m on holiday. It was a great location to not be bothered and to enjoy some self care.

I also plan my day based off the sunset. If there’s an opportunity to catch it, especially at a beautiful open space like The Retreat, then chances are you’ll spot me there. I can’t fully describe the feelings sunset give me. I guess my best attempt would be a feeling of bliss, freedom, and peace wrapped in a glass of champagne. In those simple moments, I find gratitude running through my body,  I couldn’t help, but soak in the views and be completely present with the sun and with my soul.

DINING AT CELEBRITY EDGE

Dining at Celebrity Edge makes sailing with Celebrity Cruises an unforgettable experience! You can expect world class dining with 29 unique food and beverage experiences crafted by a Michelin-starred chef.

There are many dining options to choose from including complimentary dining, main dining and restaurants, and speciality dining. I can go on and on about what I ate and how delicious they were. However, I would like to highlight three standout experiences.

EDEN: Enter a place where dining is taken to new and exciting places. Eden restaurant features menus that deliver sensory experiences and experiential dishes. Let your inhibitions go and set your senses free with innovative, mouthwatering specialties inspired by nature.

When I read about Eden’s dining experience, I knew I had to experience it myself. Eden is truly a restaurant like no other. Upon arriving for my dinner reservation, I was not seated right away. Instead, the staff took me by the kitchen to show me the open concept. I met the chef and was then escorted to the bar for a welcome cocktail. Afterwards, they explained how and why Eden is a unique culinary journey that transports you through Eden itself.

The restaurant is stunning and spans over three decks. It is inspired by nature so it’s filled with greenery. I couldn’t help, but admire the ceilings and the interior. One rule I would impose is to take a moment to look up and to look around. Notice what you’re seeing and notice where your eyes lead to. I felt like I was dining in a garden oasis. My evening was fabulous to say the least. Not only was I able to enjoy the live music playing on deck, but I was able to experience my food and the environment in a new way. I tapped into my senses and it was profound to see how that changed my overall dining experience. Definitely dine at Eden if you sail with Celebrity Edge because I promise you won’t get an experience like this anywhere else!

I also would like to point out that Eden looks different during the day than it does at night. Both views and ambiances are stunning. I did find myself wandering and roaming through Eden throughout my cruise the most. I think that’s partly due to the calming nature. And also partly due to the healthy cafe. The takeaway is to tour Eden because every corner is special in its own way. You can take a million photos but the view and the experience isn’t the same.

Luminae at the Retreat®: Luminae is sumptuously designed by Kelly Hoppen and features daily changing menus not available in any other restaurant on board.

As part of The Retreat, Luminae is included in the dining option. I loved dining here because it felt very exclusive and intimate. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The best part was that they change the menu daily. I love trying new cuisine and having different options. I also find that when you’re on a cruise, you want to diversify your meals. My sister and enjoyed this restaurant so much that we dined here three times for dinner and twice for breakfast!
