I don’t think I can ever get tired of denim. I love them whether it’s denim jeans, dress, skirt, romper or whatever, you name it, I love it! We all dress depending on the weather and the transition from June to July is always a little tricky because it’s definitely warm, but not blazing hot. I love being comfortable and laid back so today I am wearing the Junior Luxe Long Sleeve Dress from YMI jeans.
The length is perfect because my legs can breathe since I hate wearing jeans in the summer. I also love the relaxed appeal of the chambray material. I look put together since this dress is long sleeve and I can tie the front with the belt, which gives me a shift silhouette fit. I of course had to pair this look with my favorite slip on sneakers and black backpack because I wanted to go for a causal vibe. I think this look is great for running errands or on the go.
Speaking of always being on the go, I would like to touch up on the topic of appreciation today. Growing up in the city, I have always felt like I needed to do something and be somewhere. When I walk, I literally speed walk and get impatient when people walk too slow or when tourists stop in the middle of the streets to take pictures. Basically, I’m always in a rush. Sometimes I have understandable reasons like running late for a meeting, but most of the times, I rush for no reason.
With travelling, I’ve learned to just stop and appreciate life. I have made it more of an effort to look at my surroundings. I live in NYC and not everybody can say that! People literally dream of living here and I’m actually a native and to be quite honest, I do take that for granted sometimes. So the advice for today’s post is to really take a moment and just breathe, look around and actually be grateful for living, for the people around you, for life. I feel like this is common sense and it’s cliche, but so what! I’m always too caught up with my life and issues and sometimes they’re minimal compared to everything else that’s out there. I love NYC and I want to take everyday to appreciate the place that I was raised and you should too 🙂

Such a cute look for summer! I totally find myself doing the same thing while walking around the city- rushing when I really have no need to. I have to be conscious about it and appreciate the city as well! Thanks for sharing. Xo, Ellese

Of course! I hope you take the time and just appreciate the moment as I am learning to do that everyday!
It’s a perfect dress for the city. 🙂 I feel you about NYC. I’m the biggest walk rager. 🙁 I once tracked myself and I literally walk 4MPH. That’s like..powerwalking in other parts of the country.
I think I completely lost sight of the fact that the city offers SO many things others love and want. I wish I could experience it as a tourist or as a first-timer so I could know what it really feels like to be completely awe-inspired. In the meantime, I’m trying to take cues from my husband in being a bit more patient with NYC. He absolutely loves it. As I grow older, I’m starting to appreciate it more too.

Haha, walk rager, I’ve never heard that term before, but yes I would call myself a walk rager as well. I think your husband is right about being patient with NYC. I hope you do appreciate the city more and I will try to do the same!
You look absolutely gorgeous, girl! I totally understand your feeling about always rushing, I live in a city and I feel like I have to be somewhere all the time (even if I just have to go to the supermarket).

I’m the total opposite haha! I actually love grocery shopping so I take my time, but yes, we should all just relax and go with the flow. 🙂
The cutest dress for summer! You look amazing! We should all slow down more, I feel like I’m always rushing, when driving etc. we need to slow down and look around us

Exactly! I’m so glad you agree:)
I love this denim dress and how you styled it!
I also love your advice – I am always in a rush, speed walk everywhere and am always impatient with people who are too slow! But today, I am going to slow down and take your advice and try to appreciate everything around me!

Thank you so much darling! It makes me happy to know people are reading and can actually use my advice 🙂
I absolutely love this dress on you! I’m a huge fan of chambray shirts and jean jackets, but now I need a Jean dress!
