DESIRELIST

I’ve recently discovered desirelist, which is an easy and interactive way to compile lists of items that you love. The idea is very basic and straight forward: you create lists based on different categories or occasions such as holiday, birthday, wedding, etc, you then add items either by submitting URL links to the actual products or downloading the chrome extension, and then sharing them with your friends and family. This platform is great because it takes away the guessing out of giving and receiving gifts.

Now that I am getting older, I think I like surprises less because at my age, I know what I like or need. And let’s all be honest right now, your girl wants a lot of things 🙂 The best part is that the lists that you compile can contain endless amount of items, so technically, you won’t know exactly what someone is getting you, but at least you know that it’s something you actually have been keeping an eye for. I just returned from Hong Kong, but I wanted to share the list of all my travel essentials that I wanted or needed for my trip.

My items are below and I’ve described briefly why I added them:

  • Sony a6000 Mirrorless Camera: I currently own a Nikon DLSR 3100 but I’ve been wanting to get a newer, smaller and portable camera for travel. It is very tiring and exhausting to carry my DSLR and I always have to find a bag that is big enough to put it in. This camera is lightweight, takes amazing quality camera, and will be great to bring around so I can take pictures of my outfits and my travel experiences.
  • Nike Rosche One Sneakers: I like the simple look of these sneakers. I also think black and white goes with everything and I know that I will be walking around a lot as I happily look forward to being a tourist, so these are the perfect must have shoes. I also read many reviews online and everybody is claiming that they are super comfortable, which is the main reason why I want to get them.
  • Portable Phone Charger for iPhone: I mean do I really need to explain why I need this??? I need my phone at all times and I know some people might disagree since I will be traveling and should unplug, but I definitely think it’s necessary as I would be taking pictures with it and who knows, it might come in handy if I get lost and my phone will be useless if it’s not charged!
  • Sephora Favorites Travel Perfumes: I don’t know if this is just me but I want to smell good while I am traveling. This can be at the airport, on the plane or even just on the go. My flight is around 16 hours and I am going to be cranky, hungry and tired. I guess the best thing I got going for me is smelling good, so yes, I think these travel perfumes will make me happy.
  • Double Strap PINK Tote: I will be checking in my luggage since I’ll be away for two whole weeks, but as a carry on, I thought this PINK tote would be extremely cute and convenient to fit all my junk. And when I say junk, I mean snacks, the travel sized perfumes, tissue, hand sanitizer, lip balm, and all that little things that you will find in a woman’s handbag.
  • Go Pro: This is probably my must have on this travel list. I don’t own a Go Pro and I really want to get one for this trip because I am making it a priority to document my adventures and what better way to do that than through a Go Pro??
  • Contigo Purity Water Bottle: I drink water all the time! I like to keep myself hydrated especially while I am traveling. I think a lot of people forget to hydrate themselves, so I added this water bottle to remind myself to drink water and not faint.
  • Honest City Backpack: I’ve never been the type to like backpacks, they’re really just not my thing. But I’ve come to realize that they are very helpful while traveling. I like this style because it’s simple and has all the necessary pockets to carry all my things and would be perfect for a hike or just an everyday bag as an alternative to a cross body or handbag.

You can see my whole list here and feel free to build and share your own desirelist, so you can start getting all the things you actually want and not having to act surprised when you get a gift you secretly hate! Desirelist is truly the future of gifting.
