FALL 2016 SKIN CARE ROUTINE

I’ve never written about my skincare routine before, so thought it would be a good idea by starting out with my current fall skincare routine. This is different from my summer skincare routine because my skin is a bit more dried and sensitive as it gets warmer. All of the products were sent to me complimentary by Vine Vera, but all of my opinions are my own.*

I decided to try the Merlot Collection because there were many good reviews online and the packaging and color also drew me in. I definitely do judge brands by their packaging because I think at the end of the day, we tend to like products that look pretty or appealing. I also love the color red and thought a collection named after Merlot would be fun to review.

Below are the products I received and I included my thoughts after using them for four weeks:

  • Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Moisture Day Cream: I absolutely love the day cream because it’s very hydrating. It feels amazing on my face and I also love the smell of it. I’m usually not a huge fan of fragrant moisturizers, but this one is very light and the pleasant smell actually puts me in a good mood in the morning. I’ve definitely noticed that my skin has been smoother using this day cream in addition with the night cream.
  • Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Nourishing Night Cream: Like the day cream, the night cream is very similar in the texture and smell. I feel like it’s a little heavier than the day cream, but I don’t mind because I expect a very hydrating and nourishing cream for the night since that’s when I feel like my skin restores itself the most.
  • Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Refining Peeling: I was taken back a bit with the peeling because at first I thought it was like a cleanser. However, once you put this on your face, it actually dries up pretty quickly and when you wash it off, it really does resemble the process of “peeling.” After using it a few times, I got used to the feeling and actually like the process because I feel like it’s removing all the dirt and bacteria from my face. I don’t use this everyday, but rather 3x a week because I don’t want to overdo it.
  • Vine Vera Cleansing Kit: This is probably my favorite item from the Merlot Collection! The milk cleanser is amazing! The best part is that you don’t need to wash it off. You actually just take a small portion and put it on a cotton ball and wipe it all over your face. It also feels somewhat like a moisturizer so it’s very hydrating. The Cleansing Kit also comes with a Balance Toner, which I love because I think toners is essential in a skincare routine. I use it after I cleanse my face and just feel like my skin is balanced as the name of the product suggests. Both products have done wonders for my skin and highly recommend this Cleansing Kit!
  • Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Travel Kit: I was very happy that the Travel Kit with the Day and Night Cream was included because I actually travel quite frequently and don’t like to carry full sized products. I normally would’ve put the creams in a travel sized bottle, but this was a huge life saver! It’s super cute and also has the sun and moon symbols so you know which cream is which.

Overall, I have no complaints with the Vine Vera Merlot Collection. I am so happy that they sent me these products to try because I have seen an improvement in my skin’s texture, elasticity and hydration. Not only do I see a physical improvement, but I also love the way it makes me feel within. There are some products that might do your skin good in the long run, but it doesn’t feel good when you put it on. I didn’t have a problem with the Merlot Collection and I would consider my skin type somewhat sensitive. If you are looking for a new skincare routine or line, check out Vine Vera because I had an amazing experience using the Merlot Collection!
