FALL ACTIVITIES

I am seriously obsessed with the fall. It’s my favorite holiday because there’s something so special and warming about sweater weather, the changing color of leaves, the pumpkin and cinnamon flavors, hot chocolate and burgundy and olive colors.

Since it’s my favorite holiday, I wanted to list five activities that I always partake in during this time of year.

  1. Apple picking: I go apple picking every year and absolutely love it because I feel like it’s the perfect way to welcome fall. The whole idea behind going to a farm and picking locally grown apples is such a fulfilling experience for me. Most of the time, these farms will also offer mazes and hayrides which gives you more to do! I normally go with my boyfriend and although I enjoy it more than he does, I still think it’s a lot of fun. You can also go with friends as it can be a fun group activity.
  2. Wineries: My boyfriend lives in Long Island so there are many wineries to visit. I think it’s a great way to enjoy a relaxing afternoon while also having fun by tasting wine. I feel like it brings the same joy as apple picking but alcohol is involved instead.
  3. Baking: I love food and I love baking! I literally can’t get enough of the Apple, cinnamon and pumpkin smells for the autumn! It’s so inviting and so delicious that I love to fill my kitchen with those scents. I usually look for recipes and will try some fall inspired baked goods.
  4. Pumpkin carving: We all know that Halloween falls right in the middle of the fall and what better way to celebrate than carve out pumpkins? I usually don’t do this on my own but I would do it with my niece. It’s a great bonding experience and a fun way to get ready for Halloween. You can also make a day out of this by shopping for costumes or do it yourself and buying candy.
  5. Hiking: I love staying active all year around but it’s obviously hard when it’s extremely cold outside. I like taking advantage of the fall by taking a hike because I think the weather is just absolutely perfect. Feel free to hike somewhere nearby or take a drive to a mountain and make a day out of it. I’ve recently discovered Bear Mountain for those who live in New York. It’s a beautiful serene drive upstate and such a great way to get in touch with nature and appreciate your surroundings.

Do you guys have fall activities that you participate in? Let me know as I am always looking for new things to do during this time!
