Girly Girl Dress

I wouldn’t exactly call myself a “girly girl” but I think I can wear some outfits that gives me that sense of look. I know some people have a certain style and stick with it, which is cool. There’s this one girl that I know that only wears black from head to toe. If she ever wore a hint of color, we know that something isn’t right. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and everybody is entitled to their own personal style. However, that’s just not me. I tend sometimes to dress a bit more athletic/ sporty. Sometimes, I like the more causal, down to earth looks and sometimes I like to put on a short cute dress and call it a day.

This is a dress from the petite section from ASOS. I received this from one of my really good friend Jaleesa who was cleaning out her closet before she decided to move and study law in Sydney, Australia. It’s green and purple, which is a color combination I normally wouldn’t go for, but then again, it was a gift so I couldn’t complain. The material is thick and very good quality. I love the cut out in the middle and how it ties into a bow at the back. It’s short, but not too short and it’s flirty, but not too flirty. I think this overall look is cute and playful. I would suggest wearing this to a brunch or cocktail day party. There are ways to dress this up for the night, but I definitely think it’s more day appropriate.

I just paired this outfit with my sandal heels from Lulus. They’re comfortable and easy to walk in. I wasn’t really sure what color shoes would go with this dress because I think any dark colors like black would stand out too much and perhaps ruin the overall look. I decided to stick with neutrals and I think that’s the best option especially since this dress has a patterned style. I definitely wanted the dress to speak for itself and not wear any shoes that would take the attention away.
