GRAND HOTEL CANCUN managed by Kempinski

I haven’t officially announced it on my blog, but I am expecting! The thought of having a baby moon has always crossed my mind.  I knew it would be beneficial for my partner and I to have a relaxing holiday before the baby arrives. When Grand Hotel Cancun managed by Kempinski reached out to host my baby moon, I knew I had to say yes!

GRAND HOTEL CANCUN managed by Kempinski

I am familiar with the Kempinski brand because  I stayed at Marsa Malaz Kempinski when I visited Doha, Qatar for the first time back in 2019. This is the first Kempinski property on the North American continent. The brand is slowly growing and I am honored to experience a stay at this 5 star luxury hotel in its expansion phase. Their motto is “timeless elegance by the sea.” After spending three nights, I can see why that saying resonates. The hotel is a welcome beachside haven comprising 363 rooms and suites. The best part is that all of the rooms offer stunning views of the Caribbean Sea!

I stayed at the Club Seafront Suite, which was more than I could ask for. Upon arrival, my partner and I were surprised by all the balloons and the sweet baby decor to honor our baby boy. There was also an edible red heel made of chocolate to represent the lady in red. I discovered on my property tour that the lady in red is the host of the Kempinski hotel brand. We thought the dessert was so beautiful that we didn’t dare to eat or touch it, but we definitely appreciated the gesture!

The room had balcony views, which was by far my favorite part. It was amazing to wake up to the sun rays and sound of the waves. We loved the spacious suite, which gave us the freedom to walk around and make ourselves at home. The hotel also gave us access to the Club Lounge, which is an exclusive, members only area offering special privileges, personalized services and sunset views.

DINING

There are six dining options including restaurants and bars at the hotel:

  • Fantino: award-winningMediterranean fine dining restaurant
  • The Club Grill: sophisticated fine-dining restaurant
  • Casitas: exclusive dining experience on the beach
  • El Café Mexicano: lively and relaxed restaurant for casual dining
  • The Caribe Bar & Grill: casual al fresco dining
  • D-Lounge: cosy and chic venue for socializing

On the first night, we dined at Fantino. It was the perfect place to have our welcome baby moon dinner. The service and food was exceptional and the staff made us feel like royalty. We enjoyed our meals leisurely, without any rush or stress. There was even a live pianist, which made the evening more romantic!

On our second night we dined at Casitas and this was our favorite evening. If you know me, you know that my ideal date night is dinner on the beach with sunset ocean views. That’s exactly that Casitas offered. The day cabanas were turned into evening huts. We sat right in front of the ocean and had candles lit up. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. We even witnessed a proposal next to us!

It was pouring on our last night, so we decided to dine at The Club Grill to wrap up our baby moon. Like Fantino, it was a splendid fine dining experience. We enjoyed our delicious meals, all of which had amazing presentations. My partner and I admired the artistic touches and elements of the dishes (and please don’t forget to order the Soufflé for dinner because it’s a must try!) The staff was also attentive and welcoming and we felt taken care of from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.

Throughout the three days, my partner and I laid out on the cabana, took a dip in the pools and enjoyed tacos on the beach. Coming from 40 degree weather in NYC, it was a nice change. I believe a baby moon is all about relaxation and enjoying each other’s company and my partner and I couldn’t be happier with our experience.

KAYANTÁ SPA

Since I am pregnant, I have been prioritizing self care and wellness more than ever. When I found out that Grand Hotel Cancun had a Mayan spa, I knew it was something I wanted to experience during my stay. We had a couples massage scheduled on the last day. My treatment was a prenatal massage, whereas my partner’s was a Swedish massage. To say that we enjoyed it and felt like brand new people afterwards would be an understatement. I fell asleep a couple of times throughout it, but that just proves how relaxed I was. There are many treatments available, so I highly recommend booking one the next time you’re here!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I spent three nights at Grand Hotel Cancun, but I could’ve easily spent a week. My partner and I are extremely grateful for the hotel’s hospitality. We honestly felt like they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and cared for. My partner kept telling me how impressed he was with the service and I was in total agreement. It was sad to leave, but we also plan on returning, especially after the hotel is completely done with their plans. We would be delighted to show our baby boy where we celebrated our baby moon once he arrives. I want to give a huge thank you again to the Grand Hotel Cancun team for hosting us and making my baby moon an unforgettable one!
