Ever since I was young, I always knew I wanted to work for myself and be a boss babe. I had tons of dreams and aspirations, but could never narrow it down to one occupation. When I was working a 9-6 office job, I realized that it wasn’t for me. Maybe it was my role or the company, but I knew I wanted to report to myself and essentially pursue a career that would further my brand. Fast forward to now, I am my own boss and social media has taught me a lot of business skills that I am grateful for. I didn’t study business in school and I will openly admit that I didn’t have much business skills or experience, but I did have an entrepreneur fire in me. I was obsessed with watching Shark Tank when I first discovered the show and was jealous of people who found their passion an was working everyday to grow it.
Part of being a boss babe is to have confidence and own it. Do I always have my life together? No. Do I get stressed easily and break down every now and then? Of course. I’ve learned that a big part of being a boss babe is to fake it till you make it. And I know some people hate that phrase and even disagree with the message, but it has actually helped me get to where I am today. Sometimes, if you don’t know the answer, I think it’s a good idea to just fake it because it shows that you are willing to figure it out. I also don’t like to take no for an answer especially if it’s something that I want. There are always alternatives to get what you want and I think it’s important to negotiate and find other methods.
People ask me all the time where I see my life in five years or what I want to do with my blog. The truth is, I don’t really know and I know that’s a terrible answer because we should all have a set vision for our future. Even though I don’t have all those details, I know that I do want to make an impact in the world as cheesy as that sounds. I have come to the point where fame or growth doesn’t matter to me as much as positive influence. I want to use my platform to inspire others to go for what they want and to never give up because as a native New Yorker, I have been hustling my whole life and I am proud to say that my hard work has paid off.
Everybody and anybody can be a boss babe. It comes down to how bad you want it and what you are willing to do for it. I have never been a fan of excuses or pity and I do understand that life circumstances play a vital role in the decisions that we make in our lives, but I also believe that if you are driven and you are confident, the universe will reward you eventually. I love this about you. You are determined, willing to work hard, and so inspiring! I totally feel the same when people ask me what my goals are and I don’t have a set plan. I think with social media we have lots of opportunities that come our way and keeping our options open is good too. Keep up the good work babe! Xoxo, Christine

Thank you for your kind words Christine! I am definitely striving to motivate others to go for their dreams!
Marianne sounds like you are definitely on the right track. Three years ago I set some goals that I wanted to achieve. S far I am track pretty close. I started by freshman year in college so it has slowed up some but I will get back on schedule as soon as I adjust to college and other activities. Thanks for sharing.

Confidence is really the key, but it does take time to gain confidence sometimes.
