I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

With summer just around the corner, I am so happy that I can finally go out for ice cream! I have a sweet tooth and absolutely love desserts, especially ice cream. I mean who doesn’t? The best part of living in New York City is that there is a variety of different desserts to try. There is always new inventions and combinations of desserts, which makes me extremely happy and excited because I’m a huge foodie. Most of these popular ice cream trends have bombarded all over my social media feed so I cannot wait to try them this summer and actually take a instapic of these pretty ice creams! So here is a list of a couple different ice cream shops that are trending currently in the summer and you must give them a try if you are in the New York City area.

  • Cookie DO NYC– You can’t go wrong with cookie dough ice cream. This place is the ultimate haven for people that love to eat raw cookie dough. I first found out about this ice cream shop on Instagram as most of us do. I know a lot of people love to eat cookie dough even if it’s right out of the raw batter. Although I am pretty sure that is not healthy, the cookie dough ice cream at Cookie DO is completely safe to eat! In addition, I love that all the products at Cookie Do are all gluten free! I mean, gluten free does not mean that the place is completely healthy, but it does make it a healthier dessert than most ice cream places 🙂

  • Soft Swerve– PURPLE ICE CREAM? YES, you read that right. This place is actually near where I live and it’s very high on my list to visit! Soft Swerve is known for their famous purple ice cream swirl. The purple ice cream is made from a ube purple yam from the Phillipines. The purple ice cream is not only just pretty but also delicious according to reviews online. They also sell black sesame ice cream which I am a huge fan of! If you haven’t tried this flavor, you definitely should since it’s different from your ordinary vanilla or chocolate ice cream. I love that this place has a unique take on ice cream and I cannot wait to try it soon!

  • 10 Below– Rolled Ice Cream has been the biggest hype within the last two years and I can understand the hype after trying it last year. If you are near the Chinatown area, stop in at 10 Below and try their ice cream because you will not be disappointed! I love that you can watch the staff make your rolled ice cream in front of you and you get to choose whatever toppings you want to add. Rolled Ice Cream has been been around in Thailand for years as local street dessert. New York City seems to love the rolled ice cream from 10 Below and I highly recommend giving rolled ice cream a try this summer! Rolled Ice Cream from 10 Below is also healthier than the ice cream you would buy anywhere else because it does not have preservatives or any artificial flavors, so it’s a win win for everyone!

  • I'm so boring! I usually stick to Blue Bell for my ice cream, but boy, aren't there some yummy looking places I can visit next time I'm in NYC! Soft Swerve may be a definitely stop because of purple ice cream alone, haha. Heck, I wouldn't mind giving all of these a try. Your recommendations are always spot on!

    • Black sesame is one of my favorite flavors! It's definitely different but I have been loving it so far.

  • Omg I've been seeing articles about Dō all over the place. It looks like soo much fun. I also love the idea of ube ice cream. My boyfriend would be obsessed with that!

    • I love that people are always coming up with new ice cream ideas. It definitely makes me want to try all of them :)

  • I've tried all of the above except Do!! I loooove cookie dough and would love to try. Fun fact: I know the owner of 10Below! And I'm a mutual friend of the owner of Soft Swerve. Such a small world.

    With love, Jenn
