I used to hate khakis because I wore uniform through high school and the required bottoms were khakis. Granted I never actually wore khaki pants, only skirts, but I was surrounded by them for four whole years. I avoided them throughout college, but last year when I saw them on GAP, I thought they were extremely cute. I also saw several posts on pinterest with people pulling off khakis so I decided to get a pair.
They are still an item that I find hard to wear, mainly because they don’t go with every shoe. I tried to wear flats with these and that just didn’t work out. I also don’t think they look good with tall boots so the only options left are booties or heels. I wore my red Zara Knit sweater because I think red and beige makes a good combination. I just threw on my Zoo Shoo black booties, BGBG handbag and black coat and walked out the door.
I didn’t put much effort into this look, but I didn’t think I really needed to. It’s super laid back especially with the pocket features from the pants. I do want to try and wear heels with this outfit, but being that we’re in January, I’ll have to wait another 6 months or so. I definitely want to explore more other options with khakis, so hopefully they’ll be a future post on another outfit with them on soon.
