MAKE UP LOOK FEATURING ALMAY® COSMIC COLLECTION

*This is a sponsored post in partnership with Almay and Her Campus Media. All words and opinions are my own.

I had the privilege of attending Her Conference with Her Campus during an eventful weekend in July. It was an amazing experience because I was able to network with other bloggers, listen to inspirational speakers, and enjoy the activations from brands such as Ulta Beauty, Almay and Bliss. I particularly wanted to focus on Almay as they just launched their Almay® Cosmic Collection. I’ve been a huge fan of the brand ever since I was in high school and I am excited to be partnering with them for this post.

It’s summertime and there’s no better reason to explore new makeup looks! I get excited when it’s warm outside because I think it’s the best excuse to try new and fun looks that you normally wouldn’t wear on an everyday basis. I am excited to share my favorite look using  products from the Almay® Cosmic Collection including Almay Make Them Jelly™ Hi-Lite, Almay Goddess Gloss™, Almay Shadow Squad™ Eyeshadow Holographic, all of which can be found at Ulta Beauty.

I normally go for a neutral, warm tone look as part of my ever day routine, but since I attend a lot of events and take photos, I like to be creative with my looks because that’s the fun part of makeup! I wanted to give you a bit of background on each of the products I used to achieve this cosmic, ethereal look inspired by the colors and theme of Almay® Cosmic Collection.

I always start with my eyes first because I like to clean any fall outs before applying my base and foundation. I knew I wanted to do more of a monochromatic look and it was very difficult to choose which quads I wanted to go for since all of them are so beautiful! I was in the mood for a golden/ pink look so I used the Pixie Kiss palette from Almay Shadow Squad™ Eyeshadow Holographic. The colors have a great pigments and even though the shades look light, they have great payoff when applied to the lids. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much kick backs with the pigments, which is definitely an issue I have with many shadows. I used the bottom left golden/ coral color  as the base and the upper pink shade for my inner corners and finished the look off with mixing the remaining two colors for my outer lids. I loved how this blended together to achieve an irresistible eye look with ethereal effects. I would recommend blending slowly and build up the colors because it will allow you to get more color and depth!

After applying mascara, foundation and blush, I moved onto applying highlight and that’s my favorite part of my makeup routine! I used the unicorn light shade from Almay Make Them Jelly™ Hi-Lite and the texture of the product actually resembles jelly, hence the name. I’ve only tried cream and powder highlighter before, but I must say the jelly consistency is great to use, especially if you want a more subtle glow. I also personally love shimmer and glitter in my highlighter, so this was an absolute dream product for me! Don’t be afraid of the color because it looks bright pink in the container, but when you actually apply it to your skin, it’s a gorgeous, light ethereal glow! I applied the product with my fingers on my cheek bones, cupid’s bone, bridge of my nose and a little on top of my eyebrow arch because I wanted to illuminate those parts of my face. This highlighter has a sheen component so it’s perfect if you want to a shimmery and glittering glow for the summer!

If you know me, you also know that I’m a lipstick type of gal! I think lipstick completes the look and decided to use the Almay Goddess Gloss™ in shade flame as a finishing touch. Recently, I’ve been loving glosses, but hate that they are often sticky because the worst part is when your hair sticks to your lips! However, the Almay Goddess Gloss™ isn’t sticky at all. In fact, it moisturizes my lips, making it smooth since the gloss is made with pomegranate, grape and raspberry oils. I think a big trend for the summer for lips are high shine, prismatic shades, so that was the look I was going for. An added bonus is that these glosses are hypoallergenic and fragrance-free!

Overall, I am very happy with this pink and purple, ethereal, cosmic make up look. The best part is that you can make this a natural look with hints and pop of colors or go extreme since  all of the products from Almay® Cosmic Collection are fun to play around with! I am excited to try the other palettes as well because the colors are honestly so beautiful. I also love that these products have allowed me to explore my creativity because I don’t own any other products with these colors. Let me know if you’ve tried the Almay® Cosmic Collection before. If you decide to get your hands on them at Ulta Beauty, let me know what look you are are going for and which product is your favorite!
