MAY 2019 GOALS

Oh hello May! I’m so happy that May is here because I always find it a great transition month into summer. It’s starting to be get warm enough to wear dresses in the city and that makes me extremely happy. I can’t believe we completed the first quarter of the 2019 already.  I feel like we don’t really fully grasp how time works, especially for those who are self-employed. I do think that writing my monthly goals has made me adopt how businesses work since I know most of them operate on a seasonal or quarterly basis.

With all that being said, I have revisited by three priority goals last April and I must say I did fairly well in accomplishing them. I wanted to stay home last month considering I had a busy two weeks of traveling previously. I also wanted to commit to my cleanse program. Those goals in conjunction helped me stay on track because I couldn’t possibly do the cleanse successfully if I was traveling. And my last goal was to make progress in the gym, which I believe I have but it’s all about consistency so I think I still need to continue with my habits into the next few months. Where I somewhat failed is my progress with handstands and pull ups as I have not been working on them at all, but it’s a great reminder to do so the following months.

I started to think about my goals for this month and I had writer’s block simply because I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to achieve in the next four weeks. Sometimes my goals come naturally and sometimes they don’t. It’s also okay to repeat goals that you have had in the past, so here are four goals I came up with:

  1. Balance social and work life: I do think I have a healthy balance with my social and work life but now that it’s getting much warmer, I of course want to be outdoors and do more social activities. Who doesn’t want to have lunch and dinner outside?! Sometimes, I need to remind myself that I need to let go of controlling everything I eat or cooking at home and enjoy company with others. I’m not sure if you guys can relate or have the same issue, but I love eating healthy and limiting my alcohol so I will tend to decline invitations. It all comes from a healthy intention but I want to find a balance with that.
  2. Collaborate more: I remember when I first started blogging, collaborations was all the rave! And yes they still do happen but I want to tap more into that. I not only want to work with photographers and bloggers to create content, but I want to create new projects and just network with more people to create magic! It’s the best way to get your creative juices running and I’m really looking forward to this.
  3. Explore NYC: I have to admit that sometimes I take the city for granted. The best part about May is that there are tons of activities in the city to explore. I want to make it a priority to go out more and attend all the fun and exciting things happening in this beautiful place I call home.
  4. Find an apartment: I am currently apartment searching and it’s been a process to say the least. I am hoping to definitely secure a place within the next month and I am putting my intention out in the universe in hopes that this will happen because I truly believe in the power of manifestation!

After writing these goals down, I am getting more excited that May is here. It’s a beautiful month and there’s a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to. I would love to hear what your main one or two goals are for this month!

  • Writing monthly goals is a way to go! I think it can really be helpful. I work full time in educational sector, but my goal is to find another job. I would like to work more freelance so that is something I plan to focus on.

You look fabulous in this spring styling. I just love how you styled those white jeans. Wonderful blouse as well.

  • Great post! I want more work/family time balance too. The truth is that is pretty time consuming. It's important to stay focused and accomplish our goals. I just got a new home, so that's a goal accomplished for me this year. Yay! Thanks for sharing<3

  • Best of luck on your apartment search! I know it can't be easy finding the perfect apartment in a city like New York. It would be cool if you could introduce events going on in the city in a blog post! I love these photos so much <3

    • That's a great idea so thanks for the suggestion! I normally don't cover events as I like to enjoy them but I certainly will consider especially if it's a bigger event!
