MAY GOALS

Every time I write my monthly goals, I am always blown away by how time flies by. It’s truly insane to think that we are now in the month of May! I personally love this time of the year because it’s a great time to build excitement for the summer as it is quickly sneaking up on us. I have also been enjoying the warm weather and love how much joy the sun can bring to all of us.

As many of you know, I started to write monthly goals starting in January as a way to keep myself accountable for what I wanted to achieve. It’s a lot less intimidating than writing new years resolutions and I hope these short term goals will help me to achieve my overall vision. For the month of April, I kept it pretty simple with my goals because I knew my Asia trip would take up half of the month. My first goal was to detox from social media while traveling and I can safely say that it was done successfully. I did post here and there and was active on stories, but I did not let it consume me throughout my trip. I also attended a meet up and met some cool people and it was definitely better than I expected given that I didn’t know anyone and I was uncomfortable going into it. And last, but not least, I wanted to spend more time outdoors and I think I did that since I was traveling a lot and the weather treated me well.

For the month of May, I decided on these 4 goals:

  1. Start Reading AgainI’ve had a pretty busy schedule this past month and traveling always throws your regular routine out the door, but I definitely want to pick up reading again because I think the last book I read was in February. I love keeping my mind active, so I’ve already queued up some books in my reading list and I’m excited to start reading again.
  2. Go on an adventure: I know traveling is an adventure in itself, but I actually want to go on a hike. It’s a bit impossible since I live in the city, but I know there are places nearby that have trails. My friend and I want to do some research and take a day trip somewhere outside of the city and just enjoy nature. I think this will be a great way to spend a Saturday and stay active while having fun!
  3. Do something meaningful for familyThere are two important events this month and that includes Mother’s Day as well as my sister’s 22nd birthday. They are both extremely close to me so I want to make sure I do something meaningful for the both of them. If you’re like me, then you think of each month based on what holidays or important events you have coming up and those two engagements are the highlights for May.
  4. Take a weekend getaway: May is a long month and I don’t have any major travel plans, but I’m crazy about exploring so I would like to take a weekend getaway trip, preferably somewhere in the states with my friends. There are two things I love about spring/summer and that’s finding plans in the city but also getting away from the city as well. I’m excited to do both but I think a weekend getaway trip will be something fun to look forward to!

Do you guys have anything exciting for this month? I would love to hear about your monthly goals 🙂

    • Getting holidays off is always a plus! And thank you, I think these are all possible goals ;)

  • Those heart sunnies are too cute, and I love how they play off the blue and green in your outfit. I actually started a book club with my friends last fall, and it's gotten all of us into the habit of reading more, and not just our book club books. It's fun to have someone to share your thoughts with, and it's really rekindled my love of reading.

    • Wow that's such a brilliant idea! It's definitely much funner to do things as a group :)

  • It does fly by so fast! I think you will manage all of these! They sound very doable! A hike is something I don't think about too often, but is so rewarding when you go do it.

    • I don't think people in the city ever think about going on a hike so this is definitely something I am looking forward to!

    • I'm definitely enjoying the warm weather! Hope you're doing well too :)

  • I really need to do monthly goals too to keep myself accountable. Doing something meaningful for your family is a beautiful goal to accomplish! good luck babe!

  • Omg I was just thinking the same thing... can't believe the year is almost half way through! I am trying to spend more time with my family and share more meaningful experiences with them this month too. That's always important and sometimes it's easy to get side tracked with work and whatnot but family comes first! Great goals babe!

  • Mariann, this is pure genius. I've never EVER thought of setting monthly goals, leaving myself at the mercy of yearly resolutions. And we all know how treacherous those can get :) thank you so much for the idea. I hope you don't mind if I start incorporating this into my blog post schedule? And link it back to you? xoxo

    • I love hearing that! Of course, I don't mind. I think this is a great idea to keep us all accountable :)
