MILAN, ITALY 2018

I’m back from Milan and as always, I love doing a recap of my trip because it’s a great way to reflect back on my experience and give recommendations to those who might visit in the future. Instead of writing down my itinerary, I decided to vlog my trip because as you may have know, I started a youtube channel and I thought it was the perfect way for you to follow my journey. This video is pretty long since I was there for five days, but if you have time I would love for you to check it out below:

In summary, the highlights of my trip and top three recommendations I have include:

  • Tour of the Duomo Cathedral: You can’t really miss this if you’re visiting Milan since this is one of their main and most popular tourist attractions. I went at a great time because it was during off peak season and I didn’t have to wait online. There is a separate ticket if you want to visit the terrace and I highly recommend you do so! The inside of the cathedral is beautiful, but the experience would not be complete if you do not see the view from above. You can get amazing photos and see Milan from a whole other perspective.
  • Visit Lake Como If I am able to, I always take day trips outside of the city I’m visiting because it allows me to gain a different perspective to the country. I read reviews online about visiting Lake Como, so I did a half day trip there and it was a beautiful, peaceful experience. The views of the lake are stunning and it’s truly a different environment compared to Milan. It’s a nice getaway from the city and I would definitely spend a day or weekend there if I were a Milanese local.
  • QC TeremilanoI don’t usually make it a priority to visit spas in different countries, but because this trip was more relaxed, my best friend Rochelle and I decided to put this on our itinerary since people were raving about it online. After visiting, I can understand the hype and this is a must visit on my list now! You might think, just from the fact that it’s a spa, that it would be no different from other spas, but this place is magical. First of all, it’s huge with many rooms and amenities. There are hot baths, saunas, relaxation rooms, steam rooms, etc. The price is extremely affordable and it was a great way to wrap up my experience in Milan.

I also wanted to point out that the food is amazing! I mean, who doesn’t love carbs, especially pasta, gelato and pizza? There’s something fresh about the way their food is made and surprisingly, I never felt sluggish or overly full after a meal. If you watch my video, you will also see that I bought my first designer bag. It was practically a gift to myself, but also beause the price in Milan was unbeatable compared to the states. This was one of my favorite trips and I can’t wait to travel more in the next upcoming months. Have you been to Milan? What is your dream vacation?
