Remember my first post of the year where I talked about my 5 goals for the month of January? One of them was to stay vlogging and upload content onto my YouTube channel and I am happy to announce that I have done that! Check out my first two videos of the year where I talk about 20 random facts about myself and my NYC weekly vlog and be sure to subscribe to my channel here.
I am an avid YouTube watcher so it’s natural for me to always want to have my own channel. For those of you who don’t know, my best friend Rochelle and I actually created a channel in 2016 but we had to stop for personal reasons and schedule conflicts. After recording and editing, I must say I had moments where I started to question whether I should continue or even upload. It’s definitely a scary thing to showcase your personality and life online. It’s also different from Instagram and my blog since both platforms are a bit more curated and filtered.
I have also learned that YouTube is a challenging job! I have spent hours and days editing the videos because I have become picky with how I look and sound. Vlogging for a week has also made me more aware of my mannerisms and the fact that I say ‘Ums’ a lot! But I have also learned to give myself a break and accept myself for who I am because I shouldn’t try to change that for anyone. I am taking a risk and going out of my comfort zone to do this since this was a goal of mine. Sure, my edits aren’t amazing and my content might be boring to some, but this is all a learning experience. I didn’t want to wait until I’m ready because we’re never really ready. It’s a work in progress and I would love to just look back at where I’ve started and look forward to my growth.
With that all being said, please subscribe and like my videos as this will be a great way to get my channel started. I have more content in the works, so stay tuned for more videos! If you have a YouTube channel, leave it below so I can check it out and support you as well!
