Wow, I am absolutely blown away by how quickly 2018 has passed. As I’m writing my November goals for this month, it finally hit me that we only have two more months for the year. As I get older, time seems to move quicker. I’ve been doing a lot of self assessing and self reflection and in doing so, I’ve learned more about what I want to do in the future and where I see myself in a few years.
Reflecting on my October goals, I can see how I decided on those three including reset and regroup, enjoy fall and connect with my contacts. It’s funny that those goals still are relevant to me right now because I just returned from my Korea trip last week, which is why I am using this week to get back into the groove of things. I also made it a priority to enjoy fall as I spent a weekend at Governor’s Island to pick pumpkin and also strolled through Central Park to admire the fall foliage. As far as connecting with my contacts, I felt like I did that to a certain extent but not fully as I wanted.
For the month of November, I have thought hard and long about what I wanted to achieve before the year was over and these are what I’ve come up with:
- Network, network, network: I think we all hear this but we don’t do it enough. Now that it’s getting colder, I don’t want to use the weather as an excuse to not attend events or make meetings. I want to put myself out there especially since I have some projects I’ve been thinking about. My goal is to network as much as possible and try to make a strong connection at least once a week so that means 4 for the month.
- Wake up earlier: I’m actually a morning person and normally wake up around 7:30-8:00 am on the weekdays. This might seem early for some of you but when I worked a 9-5, I actually woke up around 6 am and I want to wake up around 7 am so I can have an earlier start to the day. With that being said, I also want to sleep earlier. I’ve been sleeping around midnight but actually want to be in bed by 11 pm.
- Limit tv/ entertainment hours: I recently found myself watching more Netflix and YouTube and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with chilling at night with some entertainment. However, I want to be able to limit those hours to one or two during the night. I have realized that I can use that other time to do something else that is more productive.
I’ve always felt motivated after writing my monthly goals but for some reason, I am extra motivated for this month. Maybe it’s the realization that 2018 is honestly almost over and maybe it’s because I’ve had a sudden drive and push to do more. Either way, I am excited to get this month rolling and I am holding myself accountable to achieve these three main goals by the end of November. I would love to hear what your main goal is for this month. Let’s kill it this month and end 2018 with a bang!

Thank you! I hope you can set some goals yourself 🙂
These are great November goals to have. I think networking it very important too and wish I had time to do more of it. I definitely need to add sleeping earlier to my list as well. I think one of my goals this month will be to try and really be present when I am supposed to be present. Thanks for sharing these as they serve as a reminder that I need to set some goals and work towards them too.

I think it’s great that you realize you need to be more present. The best part about taking time to set goals is that you’re also taking time to self reflect!
These are great goals! I’m a morning person too, and I still get up around 6 am. I need to do better as well as getting to bed earlier!

I love hearing that! It’s just difficult to wake up early during the winter since it’s still so dark outside!
Networking is such an important thing to keep doing when you’re a freelancer! I’m actually glad I have a 9-5 job during the week because it forces me to get up early, and also makes me go to bed at a decent time too 🙂

As much as I love freelancing, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to go back to a 9-5 even though I love my job! I’m not sure if that will happen anytime soon though haha.
LOVE these photos! Looks like fun!

I´ve recently read The Miracle Morning book and try to commit myself to early wake ups! It just makes such a big difference! I used to set up goals every 6 months, but now I see I should do it monthly – thanks for the inspiration!
Have a great week!
