NYFW was absolutely insane, but I still loved every moment of it! I still can’t believe I attended this year’s shows because it was my first time experiencing NYFW and as a fashion blogger, it was truly a dream come true. I prepared three outfits as those were the amount of days I had shows and events to attend. I wanted to highlight the outfits, the details and why I chose to wear them in today’s blog post. It was also such a great experience to see what others were wearing because there are so many different styles and outfits. I love to see people’s expression of personality and style through their clothing and honestly, I don’t think any two people wore the same look. I love NYFW because it’s a celebration of fashion itself. I also think it’s a great way to admire and honor the creativity and hardwork of designers, stylists, models, etc. It was truly a magical experience and one that I will treasure forever. I definitely hope to also attend next year’s show in February as I now know what to expect.
The first outfit I wore was on Saturday, which was to the KYBOE! Show, Shop Style Collective Party, Feline Hot2Adapt Event and Charlotte Tilbury x SAMSUNG event. Since this was my first show for the season, I wanted to wear this unique and beautiful swan dress from
Dezzal. I fell in love with the style because it reminded me of a kimono dress, but instead of it being traditional and longer in length, this was a skater styled dress which I thought was appropriate for my petite figure. I also knew for certain that nobody else would wear this dress. It was an easy choice because it was one item and I didn’t have to worry about pairing up a bottom and top. I wanted to also keep the look with the color scheme of light colors so I borrowed my sister’s handbag and paired this look with my black, super comfortable Naturalizer
shoes (*affiliate link, similar item) and of course the Rose Gold Treat watch from
KYBOE!. Even though I was sweating in this dress as I was running around from one event to another, I thought it was a great opportunity to showcase this dress because I don’t think I would’ve worn it for any other occasion.
The second outfit was for the Nicholas Shows on Monday, which I covered in my previous blog post. I absolutely thought this was a great choice in contrast from my previous dress. I also received this dress from
Dezzal and thought it was a magical, princess styled, yet fashionable and chic dress. I love the transparent layer because it adds more dimension to the outfit. Since it was all black, I wanted to make it pop by wearing my tan Jessica Simpon
mules (*affiliate link, similar item). In addition, I stuck with the tan team and took my new
Gigi Madison Crossbody bag (*affiliate link) out for the day. I can see myself wearing this outfit for another event because it’s black and I think there are different ways of accessorizing this look and making it completely different from how I styled it today.
The last outfit I wore was for the Patron of New event on Tuesday. I decided to wear this black shawl collar sleeveless dress from
Zaful. I paired it up with a black wrap bracelet and stud earrings from
Victoria Emerson. I think you can never go wrong with wearing black for fashion week. I accessorized my outfit with a plum crossbody bag (it was a gift) and my favorite flats that my mom passed down to me. This outfit is definitely safer than the others and I was going for a more chic and edgy look since I was coming from work. However, in order to add a little more color and shabam, I added this suede jacket from
Zaful and wore it on my shoulders like all the models do. I love the dress because it’s very sophisticated and along with the jacket, I feel like a badass working woman in it.
If you attended NYFW, please let me know what you ended up wearing! Did you go for something crazy and bold with wild clothing or did you play it more safe with stylish pieces? I would love to see your looks! And if you didn’t attend, let me know what you would’ve worn. 🙂
