OLIO E PIU RESTAURANT

I am the biggest foodie in the world! Growing up in New York City made me realize how many food options were available. I’ve always made it my mission to eat at many new restaurants as I can. I feel like being open minded and trying new food whether it’s from a different country or not, is a great way to explore and get out of your comfort zone. It’s so boring to eat the same thing everyday, so I always try to treat myself and eat out every now and then.

We all have certain restaurants that we absolutely love and would highly recommend. I am always looking for places that I would return to for a second or third time. So, when I was offered a complimentary meal at West Village Italian Bistor, Olio e Piu, I knew I couldn’t decline because firstly, I love food and secondly, this was going to be free and I never say no to free food! I brought my friend and we went for a late Thursday night dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and was seated right away. Olio e Piu has a patio with outdoor seating, which I think is gorgeous for a weekend brunch. However, it was a bit chilly that night, so we opt for a table towards the back of the restaurant.

We ordered the Salmone alla Napoletana and the Polenta alla Bolognese. In other words, a salmon and steak plate to share. It was absolutely delicious and the portions were perfect. It is very common for fancy restaurants to serve extremely small portions and other restaurants to serve extremely large portions, but I thought this restaurant did the perfect job of satisfying my hunger. I am also a sucker for dessert so I had to order something sweet after dinner. We decided to get the affogato, which is espresso with vanilla gelato, topped with a cannoli cookie and oh boy, it tasted like heaven! I am actually craving that right now as I write this review.

Overall, I think Olio e Piu was a great experience and I would rate the food and service 9/10. The prices were also reasonable and I left feeling full and happy. I definitely would recommend coming here if you love Italian food and you can enjoy the outdoor seating since it’s getting warmer outside. This restaurant is also perfect for any occasion. You can eat here during the day with your family, have a nice intimate dinner with your date or come here on the weekends with your girls.  I know I will be returning this summer and I can’t wait to bring my friends and family. Feel free to check out everything Olio e Piu has to offer here.
