PRETTY IN PINK

I’ve come to realize that one of the best things about blogging is collaborations. I absolutely love connecting with other bloggers and photographers because it’s fun to work with people in the same industry. I do feel like there’s a lot of competition in the blogging world, but I never look at it that way. I think it’s great to give insight and advice to other fellow bloggers because we should all try to help each other out. Likewise, I am also trying to work with different photographers to get another perspective because it’s always great to have different kinds of photos. I am in a phase in my blogging career where I want to do more and be more so I am taking advantage of any free moment I have to work with different people.

This post focuses on my friend Annelies’s fashion line Cashmere Boulevard  as both the top and bottom is from her shop and photography is by Fernando. I am very pleased with how the photos came out and it was my first time shooting with Fernando. Obviously it’s all about feeling comfortable with the photographer because it affects how the pictures come out. I love that Fernando was able to capture the lightness of this outfit and the environment and background enhances that mood. I am making it more of an effort to branch out and network with other photographers because I think you can learn different things from working with different people. Photographers also have a different eye behind the lens so it’s great to see the variety and their vision in photos.

Focusing on the outfit, I am absolutely in love with the velvet bubble gum skirt and off the shoulder white top. I felt very girly in this outfit, but I wanted to embrace that feeling and tried to bring it out through my photos. This is a very causal but chic and fun look and I think it perfectly describes my sense of style. I am so excited to be working with Annelies because she’s a good friend and person who is constantly working hard to pursue her dreams. I look forward to seeing what else she has in stock so I can raid her inventory and showcase more of her clothing. My handbag is from Phillip Lim and it actually belongs to one of my dear friend Rochelle. My watch is from Daniel Wellington and you guys can use my code ‘MARIANNYIP’ for 15% off your purchase. I don’t remember where my shoes are from, but they are strappy brown heels that are surprisingly very comfortable!

I encourage you all to branch out and try to always meet and work with different people. It’s amazing what new relationships and opportunities can bring you. If there is a networking event and even if you don’t know anybody, still go! You’ll never know who you’ll meet and at the end of the day, you should always try to sell yourself because you are your brand. If you like my outfit and pictures, please also check out Annelies’s shop and Fernando’s photography!
