QATAR AIRWAYS QSUITE

I was privileged to experience Qatar Airways Qsuite while flying from NYC JFK to Doha, Qatar as well as on the route going back. For full transparency, I normally fly economy because I’m not at the point of my life where I can afford business class, so you can only imagine how grateful and excited I was to experience the world’s best business class! For starters, I have to say that it was the most comfortable and memorable flying experience I ever had. Qatar Airways has truly outdone itself by introducing a whole new level of innovation with its Q Suite. It is also recognized by 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards and 2018 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

If you have ever flown business class, you know that the service is top notch as expected. The staff were super lovely and extremely attentive to all my needs. I actually became great friends with some of the flight attendants and they made my flight more enjoyable by just being such great company especially when I wanted to just chit chat. Upon setting foot on my flight, I was greeted with a calming ambient purple/pink lighting, a drink of my choice and of course a hot hand towel. I have to rave about their mint juice because it was exactly what I needed to feel refreshed! I actually ordered it again before landing and I am not on the hunt for the recipe 🙂

*Above are some photos I took throughout my trip at Doha, Qatar. We stayed at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, which is by far the most luxurious and gorgeous hotel I’ve ever visited.

I used to think that you have to sacrifice comfort for travel. The most common complaint people often tell me when it comes to traveling is not being able to have a comfortable flight, which often deters them from flying. I can definitely agree because especially on long flights, my legs start to ache due to the lack of leg room space, which causes poor circulation. I am never comfortable enough to fall asleep and I actually would prefer to bring my own food because let’s be honest, who likes airplane food??  I would just suck it up and tell myself that that just comes with traveling.

Now that I have experienced Qatar Airways Q Suite, I must say that IT IS possible to have a comfortable long flight! You can actually sleep on the plane and there are actually delicious food options that you can enjoy! Some of the amazing features that the Q Suite business class has to offer are:

  • 4,000 World Class Entertainment options to choose from
  • Luxury brands BRIC’s and Castello Monte amenity kit
  • Turn down service complete with pillows, a quilted mattress and a soft, plush duvet complemented by The White Company sleepwear and slippers* For long-haul night flights and ultra long-haul flights only.
  • Doors and a Do Not Disturb indicator, so your slumber is guaranteed to be uninterrupted
  • The media panel also comes with an all-access power port, with USB, HDMI and NFC capabilities for your convenience

I honestly was blown away by all the amenities the Q suite offered. Not only was I able to keep myself entertained by watching Crazy Rich Asians and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (two of my favorite movies), but also able to sleep for at least 5-7 hours uninterrupted since the seats go all the way down and the flight attendants actually make the beds! I actually felt a bit guilty for allowing them to make my bed because I’m an adult, but hey it was a nice gesture and I definitely appreciated it. Additionally, the food was delicious and I enjoyed the fact that you can order whatever you wanted on the menu based on your own hunger schedule. Unlike other flights I’ve been on, the airline often sets the tone on when you eat. As a result, I was able to truly make my flight experience the way I liked.

The best part about the Q suite is definitely the sliding door! Yes, there is actually a door that gives you privacy! I thought it was a genius feature because it really made me forget that I was on a plane. I used the sliding door when I was obviously sleeping, but also when I was eating, so I can just enjoy the meal and the entertainment options. There are also pajamas for you to change into and they were comfortable to lounge in, so I felt like I was home. Thinking back to my experience, I truly have no complaints or felt like I needed something that the airline didn’t or couldn’t provide.

Doha itself is a beautiful city. I wished I was able to experience more of it, but I know that the primarily purpose of my trip was to experience the Q suite business class. I can only hope to return to Qatar and would not want to fly with any other airline except for Qatar Airways. If you guys ever get the chance, you should definitely add this to your bucket-list because I promise you it will be the most comfortable in flight experience you’ll ever have and it will truly change your mindset about traveling in comfort!
