SEPTEMBER 2019 GOALS

Hello September! It’s so crazy for me to say that because as predicted, this summer has flown by. I’ve definitely had an eventful one but I’m also looking forward to what September has in store for me because I always feel like September is a great, transitional month to the fall, which is also my favorite season. I love using this time to reflect on where I’m at mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Sometimes I forget what my goals were for the month that just ended and after visiting August goals, I can honestly admit that I didn’t exactly achieve all of them, but I also understand that it’s okay to be present and enjoy life.

I wanted to see my family more and I can check that off the list but I think I could’ve seen them even more. I did attend the Backstreet Boys Concert with my older sister and we had a lot of fun! I also just had a family dinner since it was my dad’s birthday last week. I’m pretty close to my mom and see her at least one or two times a week so that relationship hasn’t changed much. My second goal was to plan my travel and that’s exactly what I’m in the process of doing so right now. I am going to Vegas in mid September for a work gig but I am planning to either explore California or Arizona afterwards. I am leaving it up to the universe to let it run its course. And lastly, I wanted to have bigger goals and that’s an area that I’m still trying to hone in on.

For September, I have come up with three main goals that I think will help to ground me and get me more focused.

  1. Get back into meditating: I used to meditate every morning for about 10-15 minutes but ever since I moved to my new apartment, I have not done that. I think I need to reschedule my meditation for the night before bed so I can be in a calmer and reflective setting. I also want to get back to healing with crystals and tap into my spiritual side more.
  2. Read a good book: The last book I read was probably back in July and I want to get back to reading. I am actually going to look at which ones are best sellers so I can order them now in preparation for September. I am going to make it a priority as this will be what I do on my flight to Vegas, which gives me a measurable and specific deadline.
  3. Take NYFW easy: I haven’t made up my mind about whether I want to attend NYFW this year or not but either way, I am making it a priority to not stress and take it easy. Since I will be traveling the last two weeks of September, I want to make sure I am in a good head space before and not spread myself too thin.

I always try to adopt a positive mindset after listing my goals as it fuels my excitement to achieve them. It’s a bittersweet feeling that summer is ending but again, it’s not officially over until the 23rd so technically we still can enjoy it until then. Are you guys excited for September? Would love to hear what your thoughts are for this month.
