SEPTEMBER 2021 GOALS

Can you believe it’s already September?! I honestly can’t but to be honest, I’ve always been a fan of this month, so I can’t complain. We greet fall in a few weeks, which is by far my favorite season of all time. There’s something so refreshing about the chillier temperatures, the cozy air and of course everything related to fall including pumpkin spice, cinnamon, warm tones, fall changing leaves, etc.

August was a beautiful month despite the stress and overwhelming emotions that I’ve experienced. I spent a lot of it turning inwards, listening to my body, being attentive to my soul, and having authentic conversations with myself about where I’m at currently in my life and where I want to go. I was conflicted with the idea of rebranding myself, but I realized, I’m actually in the process of leveling up and growing. I’m not necessarily abandoning who I was, but just like phases in life, I am ready to graduate to another version of myself.

As I reflect on my August goals, I’m proud that I’ve accomplished them without realizing what they were. One of my first priorities was to pick up on my Instagram Lives and so I have done one live each week, which I think is sufficient for me. Considering that I also record 1-2 podcast episodes a week, I am surprised I was even able to do that many. I wanted to decorate and add touches to my apartment and there has been progress to say the least. It’s still not done, but I am hoping that it will be within mid September. And lastly, I wanted to do a weekend getaway and I’m so happy that I did. I visited Duchess County for a few days and it was a great way for me to unplug, explore a new destination and also use my car and practice my driving skills. I also managed to squeeze in another trip just last week to Rhode Island and I had the best time because Rhode Island has always been on my list for states to visit (my next post will be all about my experience).

As we are entering a new month, here are my three main goals for September:
  • Finalize and enjoy my trip: I have booked a week long trip to Istanbul, but with everything going on in the world right now, I am not sure if that’s still happening. Regardless, I will still be embarking on a trip (destination TBD), so I just need to make sure I finalize all of those details because the last time I boarded a flight was back in April and for me that’s a long time.
  • Have a PR strategy: It’s ironic because I studied public relations in school, but I have a lot on my plate and I am searching for someone to help me with my PR strategy. I’ve been working for myself for so long that I haven’t felt the need to have assistance but I am realizing now that that’s probably what I need especially if I want to gain more exposure and level up.
  • Prioritize mental health: I try to prioritize my mental health daily but September is a month that I often feel my anxiety creeping in. Since I know this, I am taking necessary precaution to make sure it is managed and one way I will make sure that’s possible is so continue my therapy sessions.

What is one goal you are focusing for the month of September?
