SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY FINDS

Sustainability might be a buzz word or a trend but I truly believe there is a more conscious effort in consumers’ purchasing habits especially when it comes to beauty products.  I am extremely grateful to receive PR mailings and I always try the products before recommending them. Over the last few months, I have been reviewing sustainable beauty finds and I’m excited to include five products that I have absolutely fallen in love with.

SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY FINDS

• Conscious Coconut:  I received a sample of Coconut Oil from Conscious Coconut, which I brought with me when I travelled to Mexico. I fell in love with their coconut oil travel packs that I decided to research their story and fell in love with their mission.
  

  Conscious Coconut is a social enterprise fueled by love. We are committed to giving everyone the tools to live their healthiest, happiest lives.

  Not only are they a company that prides itself in supporting fair trade practices, but the coconut tubes are also packaged by adults with mental and developmental disabilities at the MacDonald Training Center located in Tampa, Florida. For every product sold, Conscious Coconut also donates a meal to a child in need through Feeding America food banks.

   

  As far as the coconut oil itself, it is made using the traditional cold-pressed method, without the use of heat, pressure, or machinery. As a result, CoCo is never exposed to any harsh or toxic chemicals. In terms of sustainability, the company uses a laminate aluminum (toothpaste) tube which allows you to work with it in all consistencies. The tube and sustainable bamboo lid are both recyclable and the box is made of recycled paper.

  My personal favorite is the peppermint because I think it’s classic, but honestly, they are all wonderful!

• Herb and Flora Beauty:  HERB + FLORA is a new beauty brand that launched January of 2021. It is inspired by how the skin is effected by exercise based on science, which intrigued me as I am a frequent work out gal.

I have sensitive skin and I have to admit that since I’ve incorporated both products into my skincare regime, I haven’t had any reactions and have seen my skin more plump and radiant!

• Rhyme and Reason Shampoo And Conditioner: I discovered Rhyme and Reason haircare line and was pleasantly surprised by the affordable price point. I have been on a haircare growth journey so I decided to try their Volume & Boost line, which helps to perk up lifeless locks with a full-bodied boost, instantly adding bounce and thickness for weightless volume, body and oomph.
  

  Our kind of eco is high performance haircare for all. We have a desire to upcycle existing materials and make good on our promise to do what we can for the planet.

  Upon receiving the products, I was immediately drawn to their packaging because it is like nothing I’ve ever seen. All of their packaging is 100% recycled including the bottle and cap. Over 90% of their ingredients are naturally derived and have been dermatologist approved. In addition, their products are vegan, cruelty free and they are a member of the international movement 1% For the Planet, and donate 1% of their gross sales each year to great environmental causes, helping to preserve and restore our planet for tomorrow.

  I have been using their shampoo and conditioner for the past two months and every time I come out of the shower and blow dry my hair, I can tell my hair has volume and looks healthy, which supports their claim for their Volume & Boost line!
