*This post is a collaboration with The May Fair Hotel
As many of you might know, I just came back from London a week ago and I wanted to share my amazing experience at The Five Star May Fair Hotel, which is located on Stratton Street, near Green Park tube station and close to Buckingham Palace. The hotel is actually the Official Hotel to London Fashion Week, so I had nothing, but high expectations for the service and amenities. As a lifestyle and fashion blogger myself, I was extremely excited and grateful to have the opportunity to stay at The May Fair Hotel.
Upon arrival, I was stunned by the beautiful exterior of the hotel. It definitely had a luxurious feel to it and I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Being the New Yorker that I am, I actually decided to lug my carry on suitcase 25 minutes from Victoria Station to The May Fair Hotel because I wanted to pass Buckingham Palace and stroll through The Green Park as my introduction to London. The walk wasn’t bad at all and I loved how close and easily accessible the hotel was to other city landmarks. I was greeted with the utmost hospitality from the staff and it was quite refreshing since I had just landed a few hours ago. After a red eye flight from NYC, I was looking forward to having a meal at The May Fair Kitchen, which serves a mixture of Mediterranean, Spanish and Italian cuisine. My room wasn’t quite ready, but I didn’t mind because I wanted to relax and enjoy my meal before settling into my room and if you’re like me, you are absolutely ravenous after traveling so the only thing on my mind really was food.
The May Fair Kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t get enough of the modern and elegant decoration. Whenever I dine at a restaurant, I often ask what the waiter recommends because I value their opinion on what tastes the best and what most people enjoy. Hence, I ordered the following:
- Burrata Pugliese with baby basil and San Marzano tomatoes
- Wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil and Parmesan shavings
- Seared tuna with caponata
- Orange and avocado salad with cayenne pepper lemon dressing
- Crispy-skinned sea bass
- Chocolate fondant with amaretti 6 and vanilla bean ice cream
All of the dishes were scrumptious but the wild mushroom risotto was definitely a stand out for me! I am not really good at describing taste, but I will say that it was creamy and flavorful and that’s basically all I needed for it to win over my taste buds. I was full after the lunch and wasn’t planning to have any dessert, but the waiter insisted we try the Chocolate fondant and I thought if he insists, then I must try it. He claimed that it would be the best fondant I’ve ever tasted and of course he was right! Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo to show for it because I devoured it, but I guess that’s proof of how much I enjoyed it!
After I filled my belly with joy, I checked into the room and was blown away by the elegant design. My favorite color is red so I absolutely loved the red theme of the sofas and bed. But what really took my breath away was the marble luxurious designed bathroom! It was a walk in bathroom, which is something I’ve never experienced before! Not only was there a tub, but also a shower and not just one, but TWO sinks! If I could copy the exact design of the bathroom to my future home, I definitely would. The May Fair Hotel also welcomed me with chocolate covered strawberries, so they definitely knew how to win my heart. At this point, I was filled with gratitude because the service and hospitality that the hotel gave me was beyond what I could ever ask for.
To top everything off, the hotel offers complimentary breakfast at The May Fair Kitchen, so obviously I was going to take advantage of that. Usually when hotels offer complimentary breakfast, it’s your typical continental breakfast including eggs, pancakes and fruits. Apparently, the British does breakfast differently because The May Fair Kitchen offered a huge range of options including croissants, yogurt, juices, eggs, omelettes, lox, etc. When a hotel offers lox for breakfast, you know they take breakfast seriously. And if you know me, you know that I go crazy for smoked salmon! Not only are you able to self serve, but they also have waiters that will take customized orders including your drinks and omelettes. I felt like a princess and it was the best way to fuel up for my packed days ahead.
The May Fair Hotel also has other amenities including The May Fair Terrace, The May Fair Bar, The May Fair Theatre, and luxury spa and gym. This hotel has everything you could ask for and all on a luxurious scale. After touring and spending all day outside, it was lovely to return to this hotel. I also loved the location because it’s only a few blocks from Green Park tube station so it was easy for me to get to all my destinations. The neighborhood is also safe and friendly. I spent two nights there, but I honestly wish I could spend a month. The May Fair Hotel exceeded all my expectations and left me with memories that I’ll never forget. I am making it a priority to stay here the next time I visit because I couldn’t rave enough of the hospitality and services. If you are looking for a place to stay in London, look no further because I promise you will have an unforgettable experience just like I did!

I just love hotels in London, everything seems to be extra special. The interior design looks elegant and really classy. The bedroom looks a little simple but sometimes simplicity is real beauty.
