Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, The Royal Wedding happened this past weekend on May 19, 2018 at Windsor Castle in London and I just couldn’t help but write about it. Firstly, I am obsessed with Meghan Markle because Suits is one of my favorite shows and she was one of my favorite character. Secondly, she is obviously gorgeous and I love everything that she stands for and it still blows my mind that she is now the Duchess of Sussex! I woke up at 7 am, right on time to be able to catch her coming out of the car and walking down the aisle, accompanied by Prince Charles.
My first impression was that she looked stunning, but I did think that she could’ve chosen a dress with a little more detail. I thought it was classic, elegant and simple, but I couldn’t help but compare it to Kate Middleton’s dress, which I thought was a slightly better choice due to the lace features. However, I quickly got over this by the clear love that Prince Harry had for Meghan Markle. I mean did you guys see the way he looked at her and when he kept telling her that he’s so lucky?? That’s the type of man we should all want! But beside that, the ceremony was truly magical and it made me feel like a hopeless romantic all over again. It’s still crazy to think that so many people were witnessing an intimate event in their lives, but they it still seemed real and not a televised spectacle.
Upon further research, I found out that Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller, the first female Artistic Director at Givenchy. The dress had a white bateau neckline and featured “hand-embroidered 16.5-foot silk tulle veil with flowers representing all 53 countries of the Commonwealth.” According to Time.Com, “Meghan’s veil was topped with Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was on loan from Queen Elizabeth.” As you can see, Meghan Markle truly put a lot of thought into what she wore, which made me respect her choices even more. She truly does stand for women empowerment and representation.
The second gown she wore really blew me away because even though it was quite simple, I felt like it was the perfect choice to still be elegant, classy and of course stylish. Stella McCartney designed the second gown and even though there wasn’t lace or embellishments like the first gown, it was more revealing since it was a halter neck style and low back, so her shoulders showed but I think it suited her perfectly. And looking back, I think she made great choices for her gowns. There is honestly nothing this woman can’t pull off.
I’m excited to follow along their journey and to see how she is taking her new role into the Royal Family. Were you guys following the Royal Wedding like I did? What did you think of her gown choices?!

Great recap babe! Personally I wasn't too big a fan of her dress because I felt like it was ill-fitting but at the same time I could see how some people would love it!
I also felt like there could've been more done to her dress but I do appreciate the thought process behind all the details!
Haha, as I was in London during the wedding and the week after it, this is basically all people here (there) talk about. The ceremony was... different, by which I don't mean bad, but not what you'd maybe expect from a royal wedding. Kind of like her choice of dress. I do love that she put so much though into it, but compared to Kate's it was a bit blend. Being a true royalist and feminist as I am, I do admire our new duchess however and it goes to show that you can become ANYTHING you want!

Yesss! I agree with what you said 100%! And wow that must have been amazing to be in London during that time. I was literally glued to my TV screen haha. I might have been even a little obsessed with the Royal Wedding!
I didn't get to see the wedding live on TV but I was so impressed and of course happy when I saw the photos afterwards! She looked so beautiful in both dresses! That's so awesome you got to see it in person, what a dream!
