I know I wrote a summer trends article not too long ago, but I wanted to do a new one because I’ve been seeing so many bloggers wearing gingham prints, straw hats and phrases on accessories. I’m not usually the one to jump on a trend bandwagon, but sometimes I do find myself wanting to adopt those trends into my wardrobe and in this case, I’m a huge fan of all three!
I’ve compiled some of my favorite looks and styles from the trends below. (*Disable adblock to view it)
- Straw Bags: Straw Bags are perfect for the summer and are super versatile. What’s great about this season is that I’ve seen it in a variety of shapes, which gives it a fresh take on a summer classic. I think the ones that are small, brightly colored and more structured are adorable to take on the beach or a weekend getaway. I have a tote straw bag from Capellini, which I featured in this post. It’s a great size because if you’re like me, you just want a tote bag to throw all your things in.
- Gingham: Gingham is the perfect print for summer. Even though gingham has been around for a while, it’s definitely made a bigger comeback this season in everything from jumpsuits to swimsuits. I just looked at my closet and don’t own anything with this print, but I do own quite a few plaids. I think my next item to add to my wardrobe would have to be a gingham printed dress!
- Words on Accessories: The perfect way to make a statement without having to say a word. I absolutely love this trend because you can express everything  just by what you’re carrying! I know some people might think it’s a bit childish or immature, but I embrace it and love it! I especially also love the fun shaped bags resembling pizzas and unicorns because that’s really in right now and I think summer is the best time to rock it.

Mariann you always look amazing. I have really been into sneakers this summer so far. I almost have an obsession – but they are so comfortable and look great whether you have on a dress, jeans, shorts, etc. And I am loving the Pom poms on sandals.

I totally agree and love these summer trends too! I am usually not a fan of straw totes but whether it is everyone on Instagram carrying them or I really changed my style, I love them. There are so many cute styles and they go perfect with the gingham! I have been drawn to some gingham pieces too lately. There is just so many cute things for summer! xoxo, Christine

I love all three trends and must say I’m in love with the straw bags in particular (as they can combined with the statement trend too) and have ordered a beautiful straw tote to complete my summer wardrobe. Do I even need to mention I’m all for gingham despite the fact that I’m not one to follow trends that easily either. It appears the trends this summer appeal to us anyway, which is convenient. 🙂

I’ve definitely been wanting to get my hands on a straw bag! Of course the Cult Gaia one is the most iconic, but there are also so many other cute options! I also recently started getting into gingham, and now the obsession can’t be stopped! Your choices are all so cute!

I’ve seen a lot of straw bags on the current trending photos on Instagram, and I must say I’m in love! Reminds me very much of stereotypical romantic countryside picnics where a beautiful bouquet is given 🙂

Straw bags are my fave summer trend, but for me I see it more as an essential rather than a one-off trend 🙂 I love the effortlessly cool, Jane Birkin vibe straw bags give off. Loving all of your cute picks here!
