WHAT’S WRONG WITH BEING CONFIDENT?

Totally just stole that title from Demi Lovato’s song, “What’s Wrong With Being Confident?” because I thought it was extremely appropriate for today’s outfit! I also wanted to talk about confidence because I think it’s an attractive and important quality to have, especially for women. And I just wanted to clarify that there’s a huge difference between confidence and arrogance.

In today’s society, especially since social media is at its peak, it’s so easy to get caught up with looks and superficial things. Everybody wants to look pretty and have a bikini body, perfect skin, voluminous hair, long eyelashes, etc, etc. I’m guilty of this too. I have scrolled through my Instagram feed and found myself admiring other women’s features and even wishing they were mine. However, over the past year or so, I’ve really learned to embrace who I am and love my body for what it is. A huge part of that is acceptance and self love and I know that it takes time to adopt both into your mentality and being.

I don’t love everything about myself because I’m not perfect and nobody is. But I think that having a positive attitude is everything because it can change your outlook on the things that you cannot control. For example, instead of complaining that I am short, I have embraced my petite figure and have found clothing that I can wear that others cannot. I don’t have long eyelashes, but I can use mascara to achieve that look. I’m fairly pale and don’t tan really well, but that’s okay! I still choose to wear shorts and dresses because I’m not going to let that stop me from being happy.

It’s amazing what confidence can bring you and how it can change you. Even if you’re not 100% comfortable and confident in your own skin, you can totally still fake it! I’m sure you guys have heard that you should force a smile even though you’re not feeling happy because the action itself has an indirect effect on your mood. There’s no reason why you should feel insecure, judgmental and critical of who you are. I highly recommend you all to take a moment and just appreciate yourself, your bodies and your life. Tell yourself you’re beautiful because you are! You don’t need anybody to validate that. It’s an important lesson I’ve learned from other people, from past relationships and from my own journey.

Wow, I really wasn’t expecting to go on a rant, haha. But I definitely think it’s good to put out there because confidence is something I know more people can have.

Yes, girl! I totally agree with you 100%! That is part of why I decided to blog. Confidence is something that is so crucial to have, especially with girls, and once you have it, you are fierce and can take over the world. It is about being comfortable in your ow skin and rocking what you have. You do this so well babe and it shows! xoxo, Christine

I think confidence comes with age. I wish when we were younger we knew how dope we all really were but it took me some time to realize that. Girl and you should be confident in this outfit YOU LOOK DOPE!

I completely agree! I think blogging has really approved my confidence! I’m less likely to beat myself up for the qualities I dislike and praise myself for the qualities I do. You’re amazing! Looking super hot in these pics!

Hi, this is something what is the base to go forward, to by happy, to see things real, to be able hear people around and to make bridges. Confidence is really not arrogance. Confidence is a necessity and very welcome thing. It is good you wrote this and in any case you didnt go on a rant sweetie. I like people who can be opened and who can tell their opinion. I like people with confidence and if they have any I try to tell them to find it. Lovely post 🙂 kisses

Preach it, sista! It is way too easy to get caught up, so I’m glad you’re calling this out. We must love every part of ourselves – the great and the imperfections.

Exactly! Life is way too short and precious to be focusing on our flaws!
