I stayed at Windsor Court Hotel, a luxury hotel in the Central Business District of New Orleans when I visited NOLA for the first time. When I first entered, I was greeted with the best hospitality and was blown away by the gorgeous and spacious interior of the lobby. I automatically disassociated my worries and responsibilities from home and was completely immersed into the Windsor Court experience.
I was given a beautiful deluxe suite with French inspired decor. My favorite aspects of the room includes the balcony, the separate dressing area, and the French doors separating the living room and bedroom. I’ve never had a suite like that before and I thought it was a cool way to resemble an apartment without feeling like an apartment.
All of the suites include:
- King-sized bed
- Dining table & chairs
- Separate dressing area
- Italian marble bath
- Many include a private balcony
- CubieTime Bluetooth alarm clock with USB charging ports
- Two 42″ TVs
- In-room safe
- Fully stocked mini-bar
- French doors separating living area and bedroom
- Bath amenities by Spa at Windsor Court
- Windsor Court plush bathrobes and slippers
I’m pretty sure my lack of sleep the first night and the humidity affected my tiredness but I had one of the best sleep at Windsor Court! The beds were extremely comfortable and I often have a hard time falling asleep when I’m in a different setting than my apartment. This wasn’t the case at all and it was a bit difficult to wake up!
There is also a fitness center and pool, both amenities that I took full advantage of. I love working out and try to squeeze in a session even when I’m traveling. The gym was the perfect size and had everything I needed for a quick workout. As far as the pool, I was lucky enough to lay out on the last day and enjoy some sun. I also ordered some food from the Waterman poolside bar and it was perfect for a mid day meal.
In terms of dining, there are several options including The Grill Room, Le salon, Polo Club Lounge and Cafe Anglais. We had complimentary breakfast from The Grill Room and ordered in room dining because who doesn’t love breakfast in bed? I enjoyed all the options and it definitely was a great way to start the day as you can see by the gorgeous spread above. The Grill Room also offers a combination of contemporary southern cuisine with comfort food for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is pretty upscale and everything felt fancy, so be prepared to be impressed!
I also had dinner at The Grill Room and ordered the sea-bass which was cooked to perfection. Pair it with a glass of wine, I was extremely satisfied to end my last meal here! I would also highly recommend the caviar because it out of the world. It comes with mini pancakes, so you can top it with eggs, onion, cream cheese and chives and it’s an indescribable delicious bite. Also, be sure to save some room for dessert and make sure you order the Tempura Banana Bread Pudding (Butterscotch Spread, Brulée Banana) and Trio Crème Brûlée (Chocolate Hazelnut, Salted Caramel, Lemon). I love banana bread pudding and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best banana bread puddings I’ve ever tasted!
The staff at Windsor Court were always ready to help me with any requests and inquiries. All of the staff always said hello and greeted me with warm vibes so I guess this is what they mean when they say southern hospitality! I want to thank Windsor Court for hosting me and providing me with the best experience as a first time New Orleans visitor!
